I sincerely hope that management takes the time to read this review, as there are significant improvements needed.
My friend and I initially made a reservation for four but arrived with just two, which required a brief wait to find a suitable table. Once seated, we were promptly greeted by our server, who took our order. We requested two chicken quesadillas, Mexican corn, a French 75, and a margarita with tajin.
The food arrived quickly, which was appreciated since we were quite hungry; however, the quality was disappointing. The quesadillas contained very little chicken, the guacamole lacked flavor, and it was overloaded with vegetables. While we were eating, another server approached us to ask if we wanted to close our tab. This caught us off guard, as we were still dining and had not yet received our drinks, which had been pending for 30 to 40 minutes. When I inquired about being asked to settle the bill for items we hadnât received, she explained that since the order was placed at the bar, her manager instructed her to close the tab. However, I had not ordered at the bar. The total came to $112, and I was surprised to see a $4 charge for adding tajin to my drink. After paying the bill, I requested to speak with the manager.
It took another 15 minutes for the manager to arrive, and we still had not received our drinks. Upon hearing our concerns, he stated, âIâm not trying to make an excuse,â yet proceeded to do just that. He lacked problem-solving skills and asked us what we wanted him to do, implying that we needed to voice our needs. As a manager, he should have proactively sought a resolution.
He then called over our server, who claimed she only took our food order and not our drink order, which was untrue. We had ordered everything with her, and she later admitted she didnât remember. I pointed out that nearly an hour had passed without our drinks. She then mentioned that she had gone on break after taking our order, which raised the question of whether she checks on her guests to ensure they are being attended to. She had no answer.
Ultimately, the manager issued a refund, but after an hour and a half, we still did not receive our drinks. This situation could have been...
Read moreI will start off by thanking Issa for creating a space for people of color who can comfortably congregate. That deserves its own praise. Now to get to the actual review: I went on a a Sunday evening close to opening. I read previous reviews about long lines and simply refused to wait [in line for anything]. At 6pm on a Sunday, myself and another group was able to walk up without a line. Security was nice and after a brief security screen, we were already at the rooftop. The rooftop was nicely decorated; it gave Arts District vibes. I like how it was enclosed, so you werenât subject to the outside elements. We ordered 2 alcoholic drinks (up I the sky and loose ends) and 1 non alcoholic (lucky charms) just to get a variety. Just as other posts stated, the drinks were lackluster. Too much juice and too sweet. The mixologist really should go back and redesign these drinks. I KNOW mezcal. âUp in the skyâ was just not balanced at all. Then we ordered the chicken quesadilla, carna asada tacos and chips and guacamole. The guacamole desperately needed lime and pico. No one at the table fished the carne asada tacos as it was overcooked. I personally didnât like the chicken quesadilla, but my 2 friends did, so Iâll leave that one alone. After spending only 1 hr, the host came and asked if we can leave the table bc there was another reservation. We spent about $160, and just at 1 hr, already asked to leave? I think a better expectation is 90 minutes at the table . I would NEVER wait in a line for this, nor do I think this is just a random spot to pop up at. There are much better places with better experiences DTLA; or maybe this place just needs a little more tweaking. Iâd visit again in a few months to see if thereâs any progress, but would otherwise recommend just bringing a friend new to LA here. I donât see the appeal of just simply coming back. The experience was a solid 3 start. Not bad, but not...
Read moreI came to Lostâand they lost me. FOREVER !
They will never find me again.
The only person who truly deserves respect in that entire building is Kayla, the bathroom attendant. An absolute angel. I accidentally left my phone in the bathroomâshe held onto it and returned it to me without hesitation. We had a moment of real human kindness. Sheâs a gem. She deserves everything good. If anyone should be the face of that place, itâs her. Keep her forever.
The host? Great vibe. Solid energy. Made me feel welcome. Specifically the gay guy. Not the girl. The server? Decent. Nothing to complain about. SECURITY- BIG ISSUE. Iâd advise on an entire review of entire security staff. The manager? Hmm. Somewhat okay, but could definitely use a few courses in emotional intelligence and guest recovery. I was disrespected at your establishment and didnât even receive a real apology. A free drink? That doesnât erase the vibe I had to sit with all night. You donât get to mistreat people and then casually patch it with alcohol. Iâm a king, not a tab to comp.
So yesâmaybe there were a few attempts to make it right. But they fell short. And when it comes to me, falling short is not an option.
You donât get a second chance at respect.
So, again.I came to Lost. And you lost me.
Save your money. And your time. Donât bring your friends. Especially if you are a person of color and bring your business elsewhere.
Btw the reason the were trying to deny me entry even after i had a table upstairs and only had 1 weak drink, 1 Red Bull and a water. Was because apparently I was stumbling and was intoxicatedâŠâŠ that was thier excuse. I was accused of being intoxicated....
