First time visiting The Eight Bar inside Whole Foods DTLA, and I can honestly say it won’t be my last.
Tucked inside the bustling Whole Foods in downtown Los Angeles, The Eight Bar offers a surprising oasis of craft drinks and great vibes. I came in not really knowing what to expect, but the friendly staff made the experience easy, relaxed, and enjoyable from the start.
One of the best parts? They actually let us sample a few drinks before committing to a full order. That’s something you don’t experience every day, especially in a downtown setting. The bartender was super patient and knowledgeable—offering recommendations based on our taste preferences and walking us through a few house favorites.
After a few sips and thoughtful suggestions, I found the perfect drink that hit just right. It was well-balanced, refreshing, and clearly made with quality ingredients. You can tell they care about the drinks they serve here.
But what really stood out to me was the top-tier customer service. The energy and attentiveness of the staff truly elevate the entire experience. Whether you’re stopping by after grocery shopping, looking for a casual meet-up spot, or just need a quick break from the downtown rush, The Eight Bar makes you feel welcome.
I’ll definitely be returning—and next time, I might even bring a few friends along. Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the area! 🍸👏

Read moreI used to come here 3-5 times a week when I lived in Downtown L.A. for 7 yrs. But the pandemic send me to greener pastures less crowded with a garden. The food is very good & insanely affordable alot of happy hour deals under 15$, even under 10$. Personally not into alcohol, but it looks like that seems to be affordable, to. Imagine my shock when today I went with my son took a few pictures of the menu that seemed updated. & went to sit outside with the 8$ creme Brule 6$ slice of cake 3$ lemonade 2$ water I just purchased at Whole Foods. While I was savoring my desert a person who works inside approached me telling me we can't sit on the patio. I looked confused "I just spend 20$ at whole foods. ' Oh yeeh, you can sit on the patio downstairs '. The patio was EMPTY - 50 sits EMPTY except for another patron consuming a glass of alcohol that he obviously purchased there. It shouldn't be a big deal. Except that 1. She wanted me to move to an area that is not blocked of by a fence where any passerby can cough on my food. 2. She interrupted me half way through my desert.-ruining my experience. 3. It NEVER acured to her to offer proper custumer service & inquire / offer for me to purchase food there. Which I actually was considering until I was made to feal like I don't belong there. I was so shocked that I left in disgust. I was about to review the food here & post the specials. But no one should be treated this way. The...
Read moreI visited this location because I had a friend who was working in property management at the building next door and though we could grab a quick bite close to where she worked. This Its my second time here. The first time I had picked out something from the Whole Foods selection to take to the restaurant to eat which is permitted.
The second time, I had their Smoked Salmon Benedict Bowl, and it was delicious. its not on the menu on their website, but on location, it was available to order from the back side of their Happy Hour menu that they were passing out. Its made from smoked alderwood salmon lox with two poached effs, roasted tomatoes, red onion, fried capers and hollandaise sauce over crispy hash browns.
Parking is available in the building which can be validated at Whole Foods. There is very few metered street parking available for up to 4 hours at a time.
Its a very fun, chill, trendy and friendly environment with crowds of artistic, corporate and outgoing vibes. It is surrounded by tourists from nearby hotels and apartments, workers from local stores and artists that roam and capture the scenery. Its at a busy and bustling intersection, but inside, its relaxing for its high ceilings and ambient lights.
Definitely another...
