Nestled within the heart of Lower Broadway, the enchanting haven known as AJ's Good Time Bar beckons with an irresistible blend of melody, mixology, and new memories. This veritable oasis boasts a symphony of sensations that transport patrons on a nostalgic journey through time and tunes that can rise four stories above Broadway.

Stepping into AJ's one is immediately captivated by the intangible embrace of an atmosphere both charmingly rustic and timelessly honky tonk elegant. Soft lighting casts a warm glow, dancing playfully with the notes of laughter and chatter that waft through the air. It's a space that seems to transcend mere brick and mortar, inviting one to linger and savor each precious moment just a bit longer as you may continue to deliberately miss your flight home over and over (guilty).

Yet it is not just the atmosphere that leaves an indelible mark. The tender ministrations of all the bartenders elevate the experience to ethereal heights. Most recently and consistently it has been Hannah, Audra and Alyssa with their flair for craftsmanship and genuine smiles as they mix libations that are nothing short of liquid poetry. Never ask me to choose between service or smiles at AJ's because I simply couldn't do it. Each cocktail is a lovingly curated masterpiece, an elixir of joy and relaxation that resonates with every sip. These two ladies and their dedication to their craft is matched only by their warmth, charm, and overwhelming positive attitudes transforming strangers into friends with each poured potion.

Of course live music graces the senses like a well-woven tapestry, resonating with soulful notes that stir the heart and soul. Each stage becomes a portal to another world (except the Karaoke level stage), where local talented musicians wield their instruments like magicians conjuring dreams and emotions. The timbre of voices and strings intermingles with the clink of glasses and the hushed exchanges of patrons, crafting a symphony of unity and camaraderie. I'm certain many guests skipped child support just to drop a $20 in what I consider the offering plate. Most recently the best show is from 10:00 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. and you'll know it when you hear it.

Oh, how AJ's invokes the sweet embrace of country music nostalgia from two of the greatest decades country music ever experienced! That's the 90's and 00's of course. It becomes a haven where time ceases to matter, and the cares of the world are gently set aside. It's a place where friends can reunite, old stories may be revisited, and new memories are always etched into one's heart, if not your hotel room the next hazy morning.

In a world often characterized by haste and hustle, AJ's and its staff stands alone as a testament to the enduring power of human connection. This is the best bar on Broadway and let me tell you why! When you first walk in, you hear the sounds of true country music. Since most places on Broadway are going away from this I think this is the most important factor. The staff is friendly and eager to make you a drink, pop a top on a beer, or pour one of the local draft beers on tap (not many bars on Broadway offer draft). The second floor offers an intimate vibe with couches, TV's and one singer with an acoustic guitar. If there is an important sporting event, this is the place to watch it. They have even started playing drinking games and bingo (people watching/sports related) on that floor. The third floor offers top notch acoustic duos or trios in the afternoon and Karaoke at night. The walls are lined with Alan Jackson memorabilia from his personal collection and the bar is made as an exact replica of one of his boats! The karaoke is what you make of it. Be sure to interact with the bartender and KJ to really get the full experience. I have heard that stars like Cole Swindell and Easton Corbin have popped in to do some karaoke from time to time. The rooftop offers one of the best views as you can see the batman building and the bridges. There is ample seating and comfy couches if you can snag one. There is a full bar up there so you do not have to worry about that! The music comes from the bar next door so it varies in quality but there are spots on the roof to get away from that and enjoy the atmosphere itself. As a local who loves country music, this is always my first choice. Good music, good...

It is a pleasure to take the time to write about my most humble experience at AJ’s Good Time Bar in Nashville, Tennessee. I want to bring the spotlight to Chris, a humble, caring, and attention to detail when it comes to customer service and delicious drinks being made promptly.

As a group of six walking up to the 3rd floor, we were greeted by Chris who immediately introduced himself, welcomed us to the bar, and most importantly, sanitized the area where we were seated. It was very busy and Chris was no stranger to a crowd but still managed to ensure everyone had their drinks made and continuously asked us if we wanted another refill. His recommendations on some of the drinks got us out of the “usual” drink order which was nice to taste other drinks that we have not had before. Although Chris was busy with other customers, he still took the time to know us on a personal level and have a connection. Even other regulars talked highly about him (mind you, this was our first interaction with him). This is how you treat your customers because the end goal is satisfaction, ensuring the customer is comfortable, and have a higher chance of customers returning which is what we did for the next two days.

Every time we visit Broadway, we have many choices to choose from but moving forward, I will still continue to choose AJ’s Good Time Bar as my preferred bar in Nashville. Chris would make a greater leader and trainer for new bartenders joining the team.
