We found pieces of glass in a our drink.
I don't normally write reviews but I think it's worth doing due diligence at sharing my recent experience at this Chuys.
One night, we ordered take out on a Saturday night, well before close, and ended up getting pretty cold dishes and our side orders were incorrect. Not a huge deal, and I wrote an online review. The manager kindly calls me the next day, and actually offers to pay for our next meal at this Chuys to make up for the order. That was very kind, and the next day, we take up the offer and go in for a meal.
Upon arriving, we made it clear we'd be paying for our own drinks, and thanked the staff there (the manager who originally called had left for the night) for the offer, and sit out for our meal. We order two drinks, two entrees, and two apps. I started to drink my drink and feel a pain on my tongue and something very hard and crunchy, almost chipping my tooth - shards of glass. And not small shards - like, very good sized shards of glass. pictures attached.
After at least starting to eat, we tell our waiter we found glass, and simply ask for two beers. We finished our meal, but were expected to pay for the two beers at first. After noticing we were confused, simply a bit up and overall annoyed at that point for even returning and ending up with an overall even worse experience (literal pieces of glass in drink), the night manager takes back the receipt and removes the two beers, leaving on the apps. I think that did make up for some of the misfortune that took place, which was amicable of her, but does not excuse two poor experiences in a row.
The food (queso, guac, and chicken fajitas) in-person were much better than our take out order the night before, so I will give it that, and the only reason I'm rating 2/5. But if you're getting takeout - maybe don't. The food might just be better in person. And I'm not sure what to make of the whole glass issue, I'm sure that could have happened to anyone, anywhere, when drinks are being made with a glass on top to seal a shaker? Maybe don't do that? Idk. Just sharing my experience. Don't really care about rating things normally. Your experience may be much better. Really kind...
Read moreAs was our visit on Thurs. the food was great , our server Jordan was very polite & didn't run us off even though we were sitting & talking after eating & the fact that the restaurant was busy. The folks up front as you come in were very nice & helpful since we were meeting someone & weren't sure if she was here before us or not. I'm so sorry that I didn't get their names coming in as well as when we were leaving as they were different which I usually do because every single one of them are as important as the other. The restaurant is decorated in a fun casual way in that if you can't relax & enjoy yourself you need to go somewhere else because your not going to. Again the young ladies & the young man up front were smiles & just invited you with a fun atmosphere from the time you walked in the door. Let us not forget the Valet who were polite & helpful with suggestions upon asking about some specific types of places we were interested in. We are back down from Pgh. Pa visiting family & actually looking for a home to buy, after coming down for 35 yrs. we figure it's time. Thanking everyone of you at Chuy's for making us feel at home & now we're going to have to make this a regular place to eat & hopefully the owner's know exactly what they have in the Staff as even though it runs like a well oiled machine it has the family atmosphere from...
Read moreFirst off I’m not one to write reviews. If it was incredibly good or incredibly bad then I might consider it. Well this was an incredibly bad experience. Because the wait for Hattie B’s hot Nashville chicken which is located right across the street was so long, we opted for Mexican. Trust me, I’ve had plenty of Mexican food in my life, this food was subpar to say the least. However, the most disconcerting point was the service. Im a nice guy, but I’m also honest. That being said, I am pretty convinced our server had consumed an edible prior to her shift. By far the slowest and most disorganized restaurant service I have ever experienced in my life. Getting a water took approximately 1/2 hour. Food arrived at different points 10 to 15 mins apart approx one hour and 15 minutes after our arrival. If it had been super busy, I could completely understand, but this place was not busy. Who knows maybe it was the kitchen and less the server, but undoubtably the worst experience in any restaurant I’ve ever had. If I could give this place a zero, I absolutely would. Do yourself a favor and deal with the wait for hot Nashville chicken which is right across the street, this place is a hot...
