I never leave negative reviews but this isnt a taco joint. Traveled the world and back. Not sure what this is but it ain't Mexican food.
Response to your note: come to NYC, or go to any authentic taco spot... you will see then. My tacos came w shredded cheese from a bag, not melted, taco out of a bag, not fresh, middleamerica shaped corn tortilla, not soft flour double, then the entire thing was haphazard and served on a napkin holder. I overpaid and what I got really had nothing to do w what a taco is. I appreciate you are tryin to do something different. But the cheese and taco was cold, the quality of ingredients was poor, the entire thing was wildly overpriced... I get that you have drunken uninformed clientele, and god bless you, but if you want tacos, this isn't the spot... go in on a Friday night at 1130pm w a secret shopper and order a few. You will see! But not unless you create a baseline standard of what a taco is first. Good luck!
Reading other reviews and I find it adorable that people love this as a taco spot... So to someone who really doesn't know what a taco is and has low standards for something that should cost 4 but is 14, it's great for them. If you have no idea what Mexican food is or what the value of a dollar is, this place is for you.. And while youre at it, order the premade, prepackaged, overpriced slice of cake. Good...
Read moreAlthough the tacos we tried were good, I would like to say that the side I ordered: the “beef” nachos, was a joke, size portion was ok (I guess) but the “beef” they put on it was literally a joke. It was 3 small (S M A L L) pieces of shredded beef, with no taste, sauce, anything! I didn’t see the “micro cilantro” either, that it was supposed to come with it. Seriously it was bad!
Also would like to add that the cashier (Phi S, as my receipt says) was licking her fingers, yes, you read it fine, she was putting her fingers inside her mouth while the other worker was giving her the rest of the velvet cake that was left, this happened in front of me, right in my face, at the cashier line, and with that same hand she proceed to open my beverage, I was about to die! Not to mention that this same cashier was doing some stuff in the kitchen line after, I would like to assume that she cleaned her hands (yeah right! Of course she didn’t!)
This made my visit not pleasant at all! I barely eat my nachos that were not what I was expecting at all, and tried from the 3 tacos my husband asked for just because we were coming form the Vanderbilt and we were extremely hungry!
For me, I don’t think I would be going back to this place.
I wish I had taken a photo of the nachos for real! So...
Read moreAn Unforgettable Taco Experience, Thanks to Johnny Queso!
From the moment we walked in, Johnny Queso made our visit exceptional. He didn't just take our order; he expertly guided us through the menu with fantastic suggestions, showcasing genuine enthusiasm for the food. His phenomenal personality and excellent service alone would have made our experience worthwhile, even before the food arrived.
We ordered the trio dip (two quesos and guacamole), the Mexican shrimp taco, the Chimi steak taco, the burger taco, and the chicken and waffle taco. Every single dish was cooked to perfection and exceeded our expectations:
The Mexican shrimp taco was, without a doubt, the best I've ever had. The Chimi steak taco was delicious and had a great kick, adding an exciting flavor dimension. The burger taco surprisingly outshone most traditional burgers I've had in Nashville. The chicken and waffle taco truly embodied comfort food, offering a unique and satisfying blend of flavors. And the trio dip? Pure perfection!
Honestly, these are easily the best tacos we've had in Nashville to date. Johnny Queso was truly the hidden gem of this place, elevating an already amazing meal into an unforgettable dining experience.
We can't...
