If you like Pure, Quality Ingredients, Avoid This Place.
The Quality of the Napkins, usually tells me all I need to know about a place. If they skimp on that, out in the open, usually you can imagine what they skimp on in the Back, w/ Food, and Ingredients, where Cheap, not Quality is King.
The Pancakes came with a little plastic lidded cup of "Syrup",that they fill. With no Exaggeration, the only taste that syrup had, was of water. Whatever syrup they buy, likely the lowest Quality was watered down to a NO Tasting, caramel colored watery liquid. Pancakes cooked well, but batter had artificial chemical taste, instead of Fresh Natural Ingredients..
I ordered a Turkey sandwhich with Bacon, Lettuce, & Tomato, and unfortunately "Mayonaise"..It took me three days, to get the slippery, vaseline textured "Mayonaise", off my lips. It also had a watered down, taste, devoid of any Mayonaise texture, or taste. Definetely Not Helmann's.. For the prices they charge, they should use Pure Maple Syrup, real Mayonnaise, (Helmann's) not watered down, and Napkins, that are not like shaved waxpaper, w/ dimples..
Saw Big Jelly Donut, looked good..Big Dissapointment. Nice Size, too thick, for amount of "Jelly" inside. Gagged, and almost chocked, about 1/2 teaspoon of "Jelly". "Strawberry Jelly" was a disgusting light goo.. Obviously artificial, and pure Chemicals. Never saw such a fake, disgusting filling.. I guess they buy from the lowest price Donut Vendor too..They both have the same ideas, of offering lowest possible quality..Wouldn't be surprised if that goo, came from a crate from China..
Staff is generally Friendly, Service is Quick, Store is clean. Breakfast Sandwiches, OK..But anything more and the Quality,...

In summary, I caught ‘campylobacter’ a serious case of food poisoning from a chicken sandwich at this deli.
I ordered the spicy chicken wrap which was the sandwich of the day. Just 15 minutes later and after eating nothing else all day I started to feel really ill, sensitive skin and a severe headache. I thought it was just a cold and I’d shake it off.......boy how wrong I was!
Diarrhea, severe vomiting, serious abdominal cramps, excruciating headache and just no energy because of the amount of fluid I was losing.
It ruined my entire trip to NYC, I was toilet ridden for 5 days before being admitted to hospital and was placed in a contamination control bay for another week. All because of this deli’s clearly very bad food hygene and contaminated chicken. It was clear the bacteria was caught from this deli as I’d eaten nothing else all day and the symptoms arrived writhin a very short space of time. I’m also very physically fit and wasn’t susceptible to catching the bug.
In the UK if this happens, the NHS writes to the authorities and an investigation is necessary into the restaurant’s food safety, however this deli is not in the UK and therefore all I can do is alert other potential customers to AVOID eating at champs gourmet deli at all costs.
P.S I would give a no star rating however it...
Read moreI am an army veteran and a licensed stockbroker. When I went rock bottom because a broker dealer didn't pay me, I was evicted and ended up on the streets. I had no money. A manager her harassed me and cursed me off because I panhandled outside for food 1 day. It was unnecessary to go outside and start screaming and cursing me off. I am back on my feet and am still working as a broker. I do not recommend this deli because of the disrespectful management that had no respect to me when I was suffering (even as a Christian man). I was there many times when I had money, working as a broker, director, and lender. There was no reason for that behavior to someone that serviced his country (during 9/11) and went rock bottom because of a few greedy men downtown that didn’t pay me my commissions for legal work. Remember this post because surely God was testing then and they failed the test of being merciful to the poor. They didn’t even pay for the meal I asked people outside to pay so what was the problem of helping...
