I found this place in an interesting turn of events. Came at 5AM to this area for work, and surprisingly this place was open (24 hours). I came in for breakfast before work, and was greeted by a sweet middle-aged man. I ordered 김치 찌개 (Kimchi Stew). Before the food was ready, I was given water and a lot of kimchi; I was pleasantly surprised by the quantity, but WOW I haven't tasted a kimchi so delicious, tangy, crunchy, and savory like this in the area. Mind-blown. I finished the kimchi, and the server asked me if I wanted more. I wondered if this was going to be an extra charge, but NOPE it was complimentary. MORE MINDBLOWN. The star of the show, 김치 찌개, was something so delicious I cannot describe it in words. It's a mix of sour, salty, hot (but not overly spicy), and unami. The one thing I did notice was that the pork was hiding, or I didn't notice how much of it was in the stew. Also, the bowl of rice is small for me since I needed 2. Besides that, incredible. If I can eat this everyday, I would, but only at this restaurant, it's the best in my opinion. The service was excellent and timely. The servers know what you need before you say anything, and they come to refill your water or bring more Kimchi. Fortunately, they don't stare or watch in a noticeable way like some sit-down services do, so it was nice to feel some privacy to enjoy but also get quick, efficient service. Lovely experience overall!
Edit: I came again and took a pic of the 김치 찌개. I noticed that the pork was hiding only that one time. This time there was a lot more...
Read moreI hadn't ordered Seollung Tang (Ox bone soup) since I grew up. Lol. Because my mom run the restaurant so she always gave me this kind of bone soup due to my nutrition when I was a little kid.
I was sick of this kind of soup. That is why I had never ordered the soup when I could buy the food that I want to eat!! Haha.
Also, this kind of bone soup with meat could have bad smell easily if the restaurant cannot don't pay attention to the soup.
BUT! Last month, my friends and I went to Maru. Then, we were hungry so my friend asked us to come here. She recommended this soup.
Long story short, IT WAS SO GOOD!!
so I came back here again!!!!!
This restaurant made me love this soup!!!
Especially, their Kimchi is dope.
I got refills three times😂
The soup with Kimchi is heaven!!!!
Anyway, I tried this at another Korean restaurant. It has some bad smell from the meat. I couldn't finish all of them.
I haven't tried any other soups here except for Seollungtang.
But their Seollungtang is legit. 🤟
My friend's Dolsot bibimbap was good, too!
By the way, the rice was already in the soup. Personally, I don't prefer the rice in the soup.
I will try to get them...
Read moreThere is a reason why this place is one of the only places that has low rating in this k town. I didnt even eat at this place, the server just decided to piss me off as I walk in with my family. I requested to be seated by the windows since I had a 3 year old and he would love to see the view sitting by the window. They only had about 3 tables and the hall was empty. She insisted and lead me to inside and told me that window tables arent available in the evening. I looked over and there was 1 table with customers already sitting and there were like 5 other window tables available. I kept on asking why its not available, and she said inside is better. I told her that we came in here because we want to look out the window. She then finally said that it would be too much walking for her and too much work for her. She wants all the customers in the same area so she walks less....... lazy worker. My husband got mad with her reason as to why she wanted to seat us way inside, and wanted to leave. I told her that we are leaving to give her less work, she replied, okNot even sorry, or good bye... so messed up. She would have given us the worst service. Glad...
