IMPORTANT REVIEW of horrific and forceful dining experience below. As first timers, we asked our waiter to help us out with the menu. We clearly specified one diner, Samantha, is not great with spicy food. We asked if we could order a dish "not spicy" and he said we were able to order the Chicken dish "non spicy" but NOT the Beef and Pepper dish. He advised the beef and pepper noodle soup we order would be "fine" (his exact use of words). As customers do, we trusted the staff at hand. The moment the soup was placed down and one single sip of the broth was taken. Myself, who is EXTREMELY experience and enjoys very spicy food was beside myself uncomfortable. As one would normally do at any other dining establishment in New York City, I asked to send it back. We inquired if we could replace this $18.00 dish with one of the SAME price as we were hungry and wanted to try something else. Our waiter, did in fact take our dish from our table which in any dining environments, indicates it would be removed from the bill because he took it away without discussing anything that would soon happen next. The manager, SHUN, came to speak with us where it really began to become a comedy show at this point of how we were being treated. Shun explained how we would HAVE to pay for the meal we sent back immediately. The best he could do would be to take 10% off the dish returned or he could MAKE A NEW ONE (no spicy). But we could NOT order a different $18 dish even though Shun was going to make a brand new one. Why couldn't we order a non spicy dish from the start an hour earlier? Why couldn't Shun make a different dish if he was going to prepare one from the start? Why would the item simply not just be completely removed from our bill when it was removed from our table within seconds? Shun REPEATEDLY stated "I know this makes no sense, but this is what is happening, i know it makes no sense" We were not even given ANY explanation, rules or regulations, this was purely based on...
Read moreToday on July 4th, I just entered the restaurant and found that there are about one table or two tables waiting for a seat at the door Inquiry Is there a table? No appointment The receptionist (only to report this person) was normal at the beginning and said there would be a wait of 3-5 minutes for a seat I was still surprised and asked again: Three to five minutes? He said it was enough to clear the table. So I went to the toilet for about ten minutes, and saw that there were three or four empty tables in the store, and the food was not cleaned up. When I came out to wait for a seat, I found that there was no table to go in. And there is only one waiter in the audience who packs, checks out, and clears the table. But the honorable receptionist just pressed the machine at the door and didn't care. I asked again , saying that three to five minutes should not be so fast, right? This Benson immediately changed his face, and response was particularly bad, saying that you can wait if you want to! Don't eat if you don't want to wait! ! Then do you want to go? he said it three times rudely‼ ️. The attitude of the front desk is very bad throughout❗️‼ ️And high above‼ ️. I said I can understand that you are very busy, but you told me three to five minutes and I wonder how long it will take. He still said very aggressively that if you want to eat, you can wait, and if you don’t, you can leave. 💢The attitude was so bad that there was no reason, I was really surprised that I was unprepared, and I regret not recording his face. I was so angry that I wanted to call the police. So before I left, I asked him what his name was, and he said it was Benson (Vincent). Anyway, he couldn't speak English clearly.
Only report this Benson because he was a rude and arrogant front desk person and left without tasting the food. There is only one waiter who serves and cleans up, and it is very busy and not easy. Directly give a one-star negative review on the whole network...
Read moreI loved the interior design of this restaurant. It was very pretty. The lighting, slatted wood walls, and long dining tables really opened this space up. Also, as a side note, one of our guest stated the bathroom was cute!
We had a reservation for 8, and the restaurant was full when we got there. However, we got the best table by the window, and although some of our party were late, they were very accommodating. They let us sit, and order drinks and appetizers while we waited. I appreciated this small gesture, because most restaurant today are very strict with time, and you could lose the whole reservation if your party isn't on time.
Additionally, the menu was creative, and from the appetizers (cold dishes on menu), to the main entrees, everything was expertly cooked and amazing! The photos attached just show a portion of what was placed on the table! The cold dish shown is the Cucumber smash salad, but we ate edamame (seasoned differently than most Asian restaurants, please try them, they are worth it), and shredded potatoes (spicy), as well. For my main entree, I chose Chili Octopus, which was spicy. It also was a large portion, I'm not sure my photo did it justice. If you order this, don't fill up on appetizers lol. I definitely brought most of it home.
Lastly, we drank Wangzai Milk, pure sugar, but very tasty. Also, if you have an infant they can provide a high chair. The waiters were attentive, friendly, informative, and funny. It was a fun, and fulfilling night! Go if you want to experience different options in Asian cuisine (Chinese), beautiful decor, and if you have a large party, or just want to impress your date (friend or other lol). The vibe is cool and mellow, but with a...
