I placed a takeout order and asked the server how long it would take. She told me 10 minutes, so I booked an Uber ride. The ride arrived after 15 minutes, and I asked the driver to wait for a moment. Unfortunately, I ended up waiting another 10 minutes, but the food still wasn’t ready. I asked the server for an update several times, and each time, she apologized and assured me it would be ready soon. In total, it took 40 minutes for my food to come out—30 minutes longer than I was initially told.
To make things worse, I was charged $10 for the Uber ride I couldn’t take, while the food itself cost only $12. When I asked if there could be any compensation for the situation, the server apologized again but said they couldn’t offer anything. It was only after I asked for a refund that she mentioned there was only one chef working that day, which caused the delay. This should have been communicated to me before I placed the order, or at least during the multiple times I checked in.
My wife recommended this place, and I was really looking forward to trying the food, but I’m extremely disappointed in the service and how the server handled the situation. I hope they can improve their communication and overall customer experience...
Read moreOut of all the restaurants I have had in all of the countries I have been to, this one takes the cake as my favorite. I got the jerk chicken platter, I have had jerk chicken a few times before. The jerk chicken was so good I dang near cried. It was served over a bed of rice and beans, which were both excellent. The jerk chicken itself had a fair bit of spice to it, but a much deeper level of flavor. It was seasoned to absolute perfection. On the side were some fried plantains. Typically, I don't like plantains; however, this plantain was amazing and acted as a great palate cleanser to re-enjoy the initial shock of the chicken. My wife got the surf and turf, which consisted of the same ingredients, with the addition of shrimp and a papaya mango habanero sauce and a slightly different seasoning on the chicken. The mango habanero papaya sauce was decadent, with a subtle heat to it. The shrimp were amazing, and there was a good amount spice to them. Both me and my wife ate until we were stuffed and had a whole other meal leftover. The portions are massive, and you definitely get your money's worth. We will be returning and bringing all of our loved ones because they need to...
