Such a shame that this is the only place open after 9 pm in this town. I guess because of that, they don't feel like they have to actually try with running their business. They call themselves an "Irish pub," but there was nothing Irish about the place. Basically just a place where people go to get drunk and act stupid while "dancing(?)" to all of the worst of yesterday's Top 40 hits, played way too loud by a DJ that has a $5 cover charge for some reason. No variety at all in the music so I guess they only cater to one type of person, even though after a certain hour literally no one can go anywhere. They boast that they have "live entertainment" but this misses the mark BY A MILE. If you're here from out of town you're better off just buying your booze from the liquor store down the street and drinking in your hotel room, because at least it's quiet and you can have a conversation there.
I will also add that even though I had no issues with the service at the bar while I was there, I was absolutely appalled when reading some of the business' replies to negative reviews, which really just says that they don't know how to run a business. Come on. Telling your customers things like "grow up" when they provide you with feedback is not the way to operate. It just isn't. But I guess that means I'm getting a negative reply just for pointing this out, and daring to give a one-star review simply because I had a bad experience and am speaking out about it. What a world we live in.
UPDATE: A RESPONSE TO THE OWNER'S COMMENT: While I didn't know what kind of backlash I would get here, it's only fitting that I would be mansplained about the atmosphere in bars, many of which are in fact not like this, on any night of the week. Furthermore, your website boasts "live entertainment," which suggests a live band, not canned music blaring from speakers, none of which was advertised in any way before I set foot in your bar. Don't blame the customer for showing up on a night they were expecting, well, a band, and getting a live DJ that plays only one type of music when you never mentioned this anywhere on your website or social media. I know you think you don't need to advertise anything because you are the only bar open past 9 here, but you still need marketing in order to not waste anyone's time. And if other people's reviews are simply "confusing" to you, why not just ask for clarification instead of resorting to all the juvenile language you actually use in your responses? That will never make sense to me. Grow up. (Their...
Read more*THE MOST EXPENSIVE GUINESS ON EARTH!! * $8.50 for a glass of Guiness?! plus tax, tip over $10. Really??!! A glass of Guinness?
APPALLING!! Never again!
I rather drive to Phoenix and get a great Guinness in an authentic Irish pub for $5! And great fish & Chips. Charging $19 for it, the most basic pub food and getting away with it is disgusting.
UPDATE: Owner's response is so rude! Suggesting that one's "budget" is $5 for a Guinness that comes from a can. What do you know about customer's "budgets"? I assure you, These awesome Irish Pubs in Phoenix will not be happy to hear they serve Guinness from a can and accused of being "dumb". So according to this owner if you don't squeeze your customers wallets as high as you can, you are dumb! Accusing people who are not happy with gauging your prices as Karens. Really?
Does a tourist town gives owners the right to take tourists for suckers? According to this owner, the answer is yes.
Posting a "negative" comment is constructive, not negative! It's about the quality of owners response that shows who they are.
You do not call your customers Karens if they disagree with your policy!
If you cared about your customers, not only about their wallets, you would take this comment as a constructive criticism and lower your prices! You can start by having Happy Hour prices, for a start. There are lots of options to show your appreciation for your customers AND still make money. That's a customer friendly business. Yours is purely a wallet-friendly...
Read moreWe walked in around 8 because most other places are closed by then. It seems like a local's spot and kind of a dive, which I am generally a fan of. The place was not busy at all and there was plenty of seating at the bar. I'm currently pregnant (obviously so) but my husband still drinks, and I still like to eat. Anyway, the dark haired, female bartender comes over and asked what we are drinking. My husband ordereds something and I ask for a water. She seemed less than excited over my order but says "ok " and walks away to pour his drink, servers it, and then tells my that I can get water myself and points to a cooler at the end of the bar. She then tells us she will just close out our tab. We told her "no" we would like menus and maybe another drink later. She says nothing, grabs some menus and tosses them down. There was normal bar food which is what I wanted (pizza, burgers, etc.). I was going to order a pizza but it was about 15.00 for a 12inch personal and this place didn't exactly scream quality. We sat for a few debating on eating there. The bartender continued to ignore us anyway. My husband's drink was also empty but she didn't seem to care. Finally, a blonde bartender showed up and seemed nice, but at this point we just grabbed our check from her. We ended up running over to the tex-mex spot in the same shopping center. We spent about 3-4x as much as we would have here. It was well worth it to have great service, and not feel like a bother for being pregnant and...
