We had high hopes for this restaurant. We were staying at the hotel and while the hotel is amazing the restaurant is only ok. Breakfast was good but because the hostess was very preoccupied with herself multiple times, we opted for room delivery the next mornings. Fruit platter and juice were perfect everytime. Avocado Toast was good too but the extra oil on it wasn't necessary and didn't pair well with the avo (would suggest a Austrian Pumpkin Kernel Oil or a Crema di Balsamico if one must drizzle something on top). Lemon Ricotta Pancakes are amazing! The cherry smoked bacon was delicious as well.

Dinner was disappointing. Our waiter was friendly but often not available or he took our order and before delivering it to the bar or kitchen stopped and chatted a long time with guests at other tables. We ordered a starter and asked to bring our daughter's food together with it. They did that but after our first course it took a looong time for our main course to arrive and by then the little one did not only finish her dinner but was naturally very bored. Live music was very loud too. The restaurant wasn't fully booked but everything took a long time.

For the food: We shared the shrimp with polenta as a starter. The tempura batter was very soggy, I think a panko crust would have been a better choice on the creamy polenta (which lacked a little flavor). My husband had the steak as a main course and it was only ok. The meat had an unnaturally strong grill aroma (probably some spice or liquid smoke) which isn't necessary on good quality meat. I choose the mushroom risotto which was totally overcooked and mushy and was drenched in cheese so it basically was a cheesy rice soup with a few wild mushrooms. The cheese was too strong and overpowered the taste of the mushrooms and everything else and also lay like a rock in my stomach for hours. Nothing about the food was authentic European (we are from Europe) or mediterranean :(

Go for the breakfast but skip...

First want to say our waitress was Sarah. She was great so 5 stars to her. My 1 star rating is for the management, if there is one. I used to look forward to coming to this place everytime I would come to Lake Tahoe. After last weekend, I would be reluctant to come back. Saturday morning I came here for breakfast around 9-10. They had a ton of open tables, but there was no hostess. We stood there for 5 mins before being seated. The busser quickly got us water and then sat there for 10 mins. No waiter, nothing. So we left. I was shocked because this has never happened before. I believe that any customer should be waited on at least for drinks in the first 10 mins, especially when there's less then 8 people in the area where we were seated. On top of that, they were not busy. We decided we would come back tomorrow morning. So the next day we return, it's a tad busier but nothing out of the realm that any restaurant would be stressed over. We noticed they only had 2 waiters, maybe 3. We were also told there were only two cooks. When we ordered we were told due to a bigger party already there our food would be on hold for about 30 mins. They also ran out of ham for the eggs benedict that morning. This should never happen on a weekend. Especially when I was there the day before and it was empty. We ended up getting our food. But one of our friends didn't get there food until about 10 mins after we did. You could easily tell nobody knew what was going on that worked there and they were completely understaffed. Our waitress Sarah was doing all she could so I can't fault her. There was also no manager to be found. It's sad that lesser rated places have better management. Please fix...

I had high hopes for having my wedding reception at Jimmys. They suggested the wine room since I had 25 people and the room is very beautiful. On my wedding day as I was sitting at the table iI felt the ceiling leak water on my veil and dress. Suddenly it started pouring out! I found the waiter he put a bucket on the floor next to my chair then a while later it was cleaned up and the leak stopped. I sat back down and about 10 minutes later it started pouring water could've been toilet water out of the vent again. So they came and had me move "the bride" move outside of the room while my guests were inside the room. It was horrible! In addition to that service was very slow. When the bill arrived for me to pay there was nothing discounted for the water leak or ruining of my veil and dress. At the time I decided since it was my wedding day to deal with my complaint later. I called the landing to talk to the general manager to complain he never returned my call. This place is supposed to be a 4 star and it doesn't even deserve 1 star. Customer service is lacking here. The price we paid to have our reception at Jimmys on our special day was something we were prepared to pay for the experience and atmosphere. But if you're thinking about eating here or having a party here I would rethink it! They care about your money and that's basically it. Lack of response, lack of a sense that they moved me out of the room as the bride, very very slow service, food was mediocre not worth the price tag at all....

Jimmy's at the Landing offers a scenic setting for breakfast with a view. Here's my breakdown - Location and Ambiance: Parking was plentiful in the back, but be sure to park near the railing by the beach to avoid blocking the restaurant entrance and getting towed. The highlight of the restaurant is definitely the view. Both indoor and outdoor seating overlook the stunning mountains and Lake Tahoe. They even have a full bar right as you enter, with a bar seating area if you prefer. The indoor seating is cozy and inviting. Service: The service was excellent! Friendly and fast, which is always appreciated. Food: This is where Jimmy's fell a little short. The breakfast menu was quite limited in options. I opted for the eggs Benedict with hash browns. Unfortunately, they didn't have chai latte on the beverage menu, so I settled for water. The eggs Benedict itself was a bit of a letdown. The flavor wasn't quite right (it had a weird taste), and I could only manage to finish one of the two English muffins. On the bright side, the hash browns were crispy and light. Overall: Jimmy's at the Landing is a great spot for a scenic breakfast. The service is friendly, and the view is unbeatable. However, the limited breakfast menu and disappointing eggs Benedict brought the experience down a notch. If you're looking for a wider variety of breakfast options and a surefire delicious meal, you might consider exploring other restaurants in the area.

Dinner party of three Score range 1-10 Filet Mignon topped with oyster mushroom: Overall score 4. Tough to cut, not a tender piece of meat at all. Slightly overcooked. Side of asparagus. Very minimal and basic. Maine Lobster Pappardelle: Overall score 6. Creamy Calabrian pasta dish with decent amount of lobster, wild mushrooms and roasted tomatoes, topped with parmesan cheese. Could have had a bit more bite to the sauce, but overall was good. Chilean sea bass: Overall score 6 The sea bass was a perfect portion size after consuming the appetizers, it was well balanced so it wasn’t too heavy, the fish was so buttery it melts in your mouth, however could have had a little bit more flavor on the fish as well as the beurre blanc sauce that came with it. It could have included more greens on the plate, there were diced snap peas but the rest of the veggies were potatoes, it would have been more balanced if the greens and carbs went hand in hand. other than that, no complaints.

My husband and I chanced upon this gem, on our first morning at Tahoe, the past weekend. We were looking for breakfast places and Google took us in search of this spot. We didn't realize the Jimmy's was located inside the Lakeside Resort and Spa. With guidance from some helpful front desk staff we found our way to this beautiful restaurant. Just as the view was blowing my mind, their amazing staff, Olimpia showed us to our table and listened ever so attentively to every request we had. We are vegetarians who are also wary of consuming gelatin, Parmesan and few other ingredients. Every item we ordered came out exceeding our expectations, served in the most aesthetic manner. They smelled, looked and tasted divine. We finished the meal with some coffees and again it was the best mochas we had ever had. It wasn't even on the menu, Olimpia made sure we got exactly what we were asking for. This place is just a big WOW. Will definit!ely go there every chance we get 🎉.
