When you walk in, the sweetest hostess great you and takes you to your table. The place looks and feels hip. Music, local art on the walls that you can buy and other interior details are colorful and sets the tone right. We had breakfast there two days in the row. First day out server Cecilia was a gem. Sweet, helpful and kind, personable. Second day the server we had didn’t introduce herself. She didn’t bring waters, was rushing us and felt like she doesn’t want to be there. Which is ok, but ma’am, that is not our problem 😅 Definitely felt like we are troubling her just by being there. Didn’t pay attention, didn’t check in on us at all. We needed try catching her, since it felt she’s ignoring us. Mind you, the restaurant wasn’t too busy, plenty of tables were open. I am celiac, and I did let her know. When the food was served, half of the portion was - glutenous potatoes. Staff (servers and kitchen) seems very unknowable of their own menu and ingredients, which is odd giving the fact Zion national park is very popular and I doubt I am the first one with celiac’s that came to eat here. If you are celiac’s, or have any allergies, or intolerances, definitely need to ask about every single item, and how you want it prepared, since preparation is not mentioned on the menu and staff either can’t put 2+2 together, or just genuinely don’t care about your health. The wheels are not spinning there, if you know what I mean. The server from the second day didn’t feel an interest of making it right for us. At the end of the experience I heard her talk about us in laughing off manner, which is just sad. If you do not have capacity to be a server- please don’t be one. It’s not only “I bring you food- you give me money, and don’t forget the tip”, it’s so much more. I understand my dietary restrictions can be difficult (it really isn’t though), but believe me I’m not loving it either. That being said, I was still able to find food to eat, however did have bad stomach cramps, nausea and indigestion for the next few days, assuming there is a high possibility of cross contamination and lack of professionalism. However, they are open to substitutions and they have GF bread. Just be very clear of your conditions, since it feels they are overlooking things. The food that I could consume- an omelette, was tasty. They have dairy free milk too! Overall: Ambience and hostess-great! Food quality, taste and presentation- great! Food selection and options for dietary restrictions- manageable, but not great; Service- depending on the server. 2/5 Most likely not coming back on our next visit...
Read moreWent here for the first time hoping the restaurant was improved after the fire that destroyed the place. The food was not particularly fresh. I had the chicken fried steak that incidentally is made with pork (not beef) it came from a frozen food supply house and not made well. It was more like a poor redition of a German schitzal with a pre packaged white gravel on it. The potatoes we fine but it was covered in a brown gravey. Why mix two different gravies on the same plate? The vegetables tasted previously frozen and reheated they were very aldente and cold in the center. The man at the front was wearing clothes that appeared soiled and was somewhat odd in his approach. Our waiter was nice but had been assigned to many tables inside and out so we lacked to attention that each table should have been given. My wife ordered the chicken fried chicken had the same issues with her plate. Overall it appears they are short staff so each person has to wear to many hats and the service suffers because of this. A suggestion would be to take the chicken fried steak and rename it a German style schnitzel exchange the potatoes for a German style potato salad. Make sure to have fresh veggies offer the German meal with a dark gravey option (will help with the dryness of the meat) and offer the chicken fried chicken with all white gravey only. This would make it a much better presentation overall. I only give this 2 stars but, I see room for improvement and the effort of the staff given the limited resources. I hope they can improve and stay in business but if changes aren't made I am sure this...
Read moreFirst, let me say the service was ok. Wasn’t the best but not bad so I can’t complain…the food was good. 3.5/5. That rating is comparing portions and taste. I feel the portions for price are a bit much comparatively speaking to others we’ve had up here in Zion… we arrived at the door at 10:09am for breakfast and were promptly seated without a wait. During our visit, I would say the restaurant was no more than 2/3rds full. In other words, there were still several seats. It too them about 5 minutes to get to our table. We placed our drink and food order at the same time. Our food came out at 10:47am. For the amount of people we caught ourselves looking at the clock more than once. Food should have been at least 10 minutes or more sooner to our table in our opinion. If you get juice, take note that at the time of this visit, the juice was $3.50 and only came in the small cup with no refills (unless, of course, you stayed next door and had a food voucher, in which case you DO get a refill…seem a little backwards maybe?? We thought so). The menu pictured is as of 3/21/2025…prices are subject to change, as has been noticed from previous menus listed for this place… I give an overall 3.5 out of 5, but just...
