Not far from Piazzale Roma, where the bus station and tram station are located. From this head station begins the railway section of four tracks that reaches the Venice Porto Marghera station first and then the Venice Mestre station, from where it branches off into the various lines for Milan, Rome, Naples, Turin, Salerno, Bologna, Verona , Brescia, Ferrara, Trieste, Udine. From this station there are also lines to some European cities such as Paris, Vienna, Munich and Geneva. The station is also served by the historic Simplon Orient Express line. Work on the construction of the railway began in 1860. It got its current look in 1952 when all the works were completed under the leadership of engineer Paolo Perilli.
