So when I arrived to my room the room was super hot to the point where it was uncomfortable and hard to breathe. I called the front desk to see if one of you guyses employees could help me figure out and teach me how to work the AC in person. A whole hour passed no one had came to help. Me and my boyfriend wear frying in the room, it felt like an oven inside. I was so frustrated. I worked an 8 hour shift that morning and had to drive there from Orange County. I had an important event I had to attend to at 7pm we got there around 4:30pm. I needed to arrive to the room and take a nap before my event. I couldn’t do that because I really felt upset, hot and uncountable. I called the front desk again the girl that answered the phone explained to me that there was a card system for the hotel employees that my card was next to be helped. That system seems terrible it obviously isn’t a reliable strategy or maybe more employees need to be assigned at a time to help in that matter. So the employee finally knocked on my door he didn’t seem interested in even helping me or teach me how to work the AC like I asked, he just right away said the AC is fixed I turned it on already. So I asked to understand and confirm that he turned it on from a different room in administrative rooms to understand. His demeanor and uninterest made me not even want to bother him and ask him to teach me how to work it myself in person like I originally had asked. The last thing I wanted to do is start an argument or make a scene. I didn’t mean to bother any employee/staff my intentions weren’t negative or wasn’t giving them attitude. I jumped in the shower turned on the cold water to see if that would help because even after the employee “helped” us and left the room still felt like an oven. Fast forward to after my event and responsibly uber back to the hotel because we had been drinking. It was really late, we ended up going to golden gopher across from the hotel because it was walking distance. After that we came back to the hotel and we get to our room door and the key wasn’t working at all. Neither key was working we wear not only drunk but also locked out of our room we wear just trying to safely end the night but had to walk all the way down to the front desk to complain and get the problem fixed the guy didn’t really seem like he cared either. It’s Sutch a shame because the hotel is beautiful we loved the decor for it to just become a negative stay and experience. I didn’t feel helped correctly I didn’t feel heard what so ever. I would never ever come back and waste money at your establishment. Would never recommend to any of the people I know! You guys need...
Read moreThe only reason I stayed here was for a wedding, the hotel was in the room block. Although my trip to Los Angeles was amazing the hotel not so much. The rooms are super small and mine had a weird odor like mildew. Also my room was facing the street which was very noisy even from the 7th floor. There is a bar directly across the street and music is blaring. ||||The safe was broken and the room was super dusty upon check in. Front desk sent someone to fix the safe but he never could and I wasn’t able to use it for my valuables. ||||The neighborhood of DTLA has potential but there are high amounts of homeless and drug addicted people hanging right outside the door. It’s sad and not ideal for a stay. ||||I went to rooftop bar on one morning with my husband we had a lovely bartender who gave us some recommendations of beaches and restaurants. While at the bar the girl sitting nex to us was a former bartender there and joined the conversation. She was there visiting her friends and old staff. Conversation was lovely. Later the night I went back to the bar with my husband to meet up with friends and it was busier so we waited online to enter. While online that same “former bartender” was sitting with the bouncer/entrance staff and started to harass me. She was very intoxicated and “whispered” a slur about me to him. Then proceed to say I was underage and I couldn’t come in. The bouncer/entrance staff apologized to me and I asked if she worked there and he said “no, not anymore but she used to and just ignore her because she is drunk”. I told him if she doesn’t work here but is she standing behind the podium intoxicated and he just kept apologizing.I went in to say hi to my friends and then immediately left because no way was I spending a dime in that establishment. It was disgusting, inappropriate and unprofessional to have a former drunk staff member interacting with guest being supported by the current staff. She should have been asked to leave that section. Bad for business and she totally rubbed me the wrong way by her behavior was gross. ||||Overall this hotel just isn’t it. Hotel Per la is around the corner literally and a much nicer and rooftop is better and rooms are cleaner and staff is professional and sober lol. I would never...
Read moreWould not reccommend staying here. Hotel is bare minimum for service and amenities... and mostly a location issue but some other notable points to add!
We are a couple in our early 20s if this helps at all!
There are a few nice things about this hotel, but not enough to outweigh the negative things unfortunately.
I don't tend to be a picky person to write reviews, but I feel the need to share some things to help others out!
The rooms have a tv and plenty of sockets for Electrics. They have a funky style but they are quite small - huge bed however, comfy, with 4 pillows.
2.The bathroom had a fabric curtain that was too long, Draped on the floor and of course was sopping wet everytime you showered, not sure what on earth that was all about?!
There are no drink facilities (or any other amenities whatsoever) in the rooms, only some plastic cups for water.
So if you are looking for water to fill your bottle they have a "lounge" in the basement which is very much a concrete building site with a tv, tables, chairs, and a refrigerator. There is one small water station here, and 2 microwaves. There is still no kettle or coffee machine and nothing other than water offered - and this will cost you $7 everytime you open the door, which you aren't told until they bill your credit card.
Have written about location and safety underneath :)
Hotel staff were a bit dismissive - when asked for any info about taxi etc they just direct you to an app to do yourself, which was no issue just, like I say, dismissive. Door security staff however we're helpful and pleasant, asked if we needed a taxi, opening door for us, greeting us on arrival or when leaving the hotel.
On the most part this hotel was fine for a 3 night stay, it is quite dated but it's got a nice vibe to it downstairs at least. We can't comment on the rooftop after several failed attempts to get to is due to strange opening times. If we were staying here any longer we would have checked into a different hotel. We have probably been spoiled with previous hotel experiences with free snacks, drinks, hot drinks through the say and night or help with local attractions and taxis etc - but this hotel seemed bare minimum to us.
Hope this helps...
