Big 5 Sporting Goods — Attraction in Newport

Went in to get some shoes and stopped to look at the weaponry and ask about a Mossberg. No employee showed up after a few minutes so went for shoes. Found a pair and a young lady assisted me quickly and I was satisfied. Went to pay with without any hassle or wait and Sandy was very polite. Sad part is I don't think Big 5 is gonna last much longer in business. I counted maybe 3 customers in the store. Made me think of J. C. Penny's, Riteaid, and CVS. Customer service is horrible!We came from out of town. Husband walked in to get shoes, needed a specific shoe size. Nobody was around to help. He walked up to register and lady was on the phone,asked him to wait. He waited around for a while, after she got off, she called for help. A lady came out, when he asked if they had a specific shoe size all she said is maybe and didn't even go check in the back. He got frustrated and just left the store. Will NOT return to this...

We went in to look at tents for camping. Had to look for 4 people to ask questions about the tents, none of them were helpful. The longest time any of them spent helping was 2 minutes, then they walked away! Cashier ( young lady) kept laughing with staffer. Ignoring us at register-very disappointing. Need better management!
