Breathtaking Views of the Talmadge Memorial Bridge ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
My wife and I are currently staying at the Holiday Inn Express in downtown historic Savannah, Georgia, and we couldn't be more thrilled with the views of the Talmadge Memorial Bridge from our hotel room. Tomorrow night, we will be moving to the Drayton Hotel, which also boasts incredible views of this magnificent structure.
The Talmadge Memorial Bridge is an architectural marvel, stunning both during the day and at night. Its majestic presence adds a unique charm to the Savannah skyline. We've taken numerous photos of the bridge, capturing its beauty from different angles and lighting conditions. The shots are so spectacular that we're excited to share them with the hotels and other travelers.
For anyone visiting Savannah, I highly recommend staying in a hotel that offers views of this incredible bridge. It truly enhances the experience of the city's charm and beauty. Additionally, taking the Savannah Georgia riverboat cruise is a must. This cruise offers stunning sunset views that create a breathtaking silhouette of the bridge as the sun sets behind it. Read moreThis bridge looks really neat during the day, but it is absolutely gorgeous at night. It holds a special place in my heart because of memories I have of it being built. My Dad worked with the GA DOT and was an Engineer assigned to this bridge. I remember going to visit and making the trip to the wildlife refuge, River Street, and several other places. I was always amazed at just how tall this bridge is and hearing my Dad&his coworkers talk about exactly what they were working on and being able to ask them questions about the building process was fascinating to me. I have quite a few pictures that were taken during this time. I'll try to post a few in case anyone else would enjoy seeing them. I also have several things that were given to my Dad when the bridge was completed that are customized with it's name & either an engraving of the bridge or pictures of it. One of the coolest is a large oval belt buckle!!
My Dad was always so proud of this particular project and as a child I didn't completely understand it appreciate why. As an adult, I do. Everytime I see that bridge or hear it's name I always think of my Dad. I'm so thankful for all the memories I have that forever connect my Dad to such a beautiful iconic Savannah landmark!
So, if your in Savannah and you've never seen the Talmadge Memorial Bridge, make it a point to visit River Street close to Sunset. That way you'll get to it in all of its glory, during daylight, for a full view, at sunset, for a breathtaking view, and at night, so you can see the reflection of the bridge and those beautiful lights...
Read moreA beautiful bridge right in the heart of Savannah Downtown. You can miss it from anywhere. I wish they colored the bridge at night a little so its more majestic looking at night. That would certainly add more appeal to the bridge. It has a commanding presence rising high above all building in Savannah. From there you can have a great view of the Savannah Convention center as well as Savannah Downtown.
I have also seen people running up the bridge which I think is easily a 1.5 mile span. So if you plan of seeing the bridge up close or plan to take some up close photographs then walking or running your way or up to the bridge would be...
