The Orangerie is centrally located in the old town, yet on a quiet street with a large garden with fruit trees and outdoor sculpture. It is an historic property (villa), which has been completely renovated. We had the ground floor apartment, which is handicap accessible. It's very peaceful, and we loved looking out at the garden each day. The room and beds were very comfortable. The Wifi connection was excellent, and was by far the best we've had on our trip. As lovely as the property is, however, the most exceptional thing was the extent to which the owners and staff went out of their way to make sure that we had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Their kindness and consideration were amazing. Eszter, the manager, speaks excellent English and went out of her way to ensure that we were well situated. (She also speaks French and Hungarian, and the owners, German.) We would stay here again without hesitation! One other note: We were uncertain how long to stay in Cesky Krumlov, and opted for 3 nights. It's a beautiful town for strolling, with a number of sites to visit. Three nights worked well for us. We realize others may have less time, but stay at least 2 nights (and more) if at...
Read moreWe really loved this place: the room (really a suite) is very large and very well equipped. The bathroom is large and beautiful-- but the shower hose was broken, the water in the sink took forever to go down, and the battery in the bathroom scale was dead. However, when these were brought to the owner's attention, the impression I got is that they will be dealt with quickly. On the other hand, we had a connecting door with the room next door, and they were rather noisy. Try to avoid that! Getting there by car is tricky, and is possible only after 3 PM. They do not take credit cards, and do not provide a breakfast or a 24 hours reception-- all for a rather high price-- but it is a VERY quaint place in a great location with on site free parking. We...
Read moreWe booked one night and loved the guesthouse and town so much we stayed another night.
Our room was spacious and well priced. The bed was really comfortable and big which was perfect for me, my wife, and kid. The extra space in the room was perfect for unpacking our stuff and still staying somewhat organized. I liked having a fridge for food too.
The bathroom was big and very warm considering how cold it was outside. Additionally, everything was superbly clean. I met one of the owners and she was very quick to answer any question we had. She was also very nice and spoke perfect English.
The location is great. There are tons of good restaurants and little shops to look in. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at Orangerie again. I bet this place is great...
