I liked only the location||||Overal, it was horrible. 1. I ordered accommodation for €599, I chose payment at the hotel. The hotel charged us €36 more, so I paid €635!! We complained at the reception, where the receptionist (blonde) was very arrogant and rude . They referred to the Czech exchange rate and that booking is deducting their money and that it happens everywhere, but it has never happened to me in any hotel (neither in Prague nor elsewhere abroad). A lot of people from other companies also complained about the price hike, so at least don't lie to people's faces that it's the booking's fault!! changing the exchange rate will make the price maybe 2-5€ higher for 599€ and not 36€!!!! On the phone with the hotel manager, also very rude and selfish lady. Excuses, no apology, no compensation, they said they will not refund our money! Horrible, this is just a scam. At the end of our stay, they told us that payment in euros would have been cheaper than in Czech crowns and that they inform every guest about this. This is not true at all: first of all, I paid by card, so they charge the amount themselves!!! And secondly, no one told us about this strange move!||2. Unprepared room. I ordered a room for four people, we got one large double bed and one small bed, so for three people. There were also three glasses in the room. At least it was resolved when we contacted the reception||3. Weak breakfast, only few pastry, only ham and cheese and yoghurt..so we were hungry. Sometimes there is a lack of milk for coffee and plates, not enough places to sit. And we didn't get there late at all, but at 9 (Breakfast is from 8-10 a.m.)||4. Staff - reception. Horror, they barely responded to any of our complaints and did not try to resolve the situation, we did not receive an apology, they still lie to our faces along with the manager. A receptionist with blond hair should especially remember herself and study the basics of ethics and learn to say Hi and Bye :)||5. Poorly cleaned rooms - it could have been better, they only changed the toilet paper, towels and made the bed, but the floor was still...
Read moreWe had trouble getting our debit card to work to pay for the stay when we got to hotel. The lad on reception was fairly disrespectful trying to put the blame on us instead of their card machine not working. He stressed us out we even went to an ATM but still could not get the money out. He would not leave it till the morning to be able to sort it out. Although we had booked a year in advance he would not let us stay until we had paid. At the end my son came to the rescue and we managed to pay them.|There is also no way a taxi can drop you off or pick u up as cars are not allowed down the street where hotel is. The hotel also would not let us wait in the reception area as we were told it was not a waiting room and would have to wait in the restaurant next door very friendly!!|The room you book is not necessarily the one you get. The photos on booking.com are a misrepresentation of the room you can get. We booked the hotel because the room looked good and was so near to facilities. If we had known that we were not going to get the room that was shown we would not have booked.|There is no TV in rooms or coffee/tea facilities and the breakfast was uninspiring. Would not...
Read moreHotel Dar was a GREAT way to start our European holiday! Located near the city center but tucked away, it was perfect for navigating the city, yet being able to take a break or drop items off at the room. Front desk staff was friendly! ||This is a good option if you have any mobility issues. There are stairs or a lift. Breakfast was really exceptional. Hot water kettle in the room for tea or coffee to get your day started. Beds were comfortable. ||ONE drawback. We stayed in a room on the street side. There is a bar below. I did not heed the warnings of those who previously wrote reviews and request a room away from the street. It is LOUD. Honestly they should just leave packages of ear plugs in the room. It was nice to have the window open but the noise can make that nearly impossible. This is NOT a problem if you are hard of hearing and/or take your hearing aids out overnight. ||Also, we elected transportation from the airport (a service they provide), it had been a long travel day and paying to be delivered to the hotel was priceless. Well worth the price. ||Overall I would not hesitate to re-book. I would either ask for a room away from the street and/or pack...
