Can’t believe they would hack your account at booking.com and say to themselves they’re a 10. I never write reviews even if it’s good or not because that’s my norm, but if you hack my account for your own sake, I’m gonna give my real opinion back if that’s what you want.
I booked for three nights. I arrived at night, so tired and it was my first time at Egypt where everyone keeps on saying “taxi?” trying my best not to get scammed. Not knowing the prices for tours in Egypt, the receptionist suggested to me a $90 1day tour with no lunch, no water, no entry tickets. Just for the vehicle and the tour guide. I know nothing so just took the day tour, no lunch and it was a rip off. I specifically said no lunch to the receptionist, but the tour guide said he’ll pay for my lunch so we ate. Then we get back at the hotel, the owner told me to pay for the lunch. I payed less than $10 for that. And I would have saved more without the tour if I went alone using uber. The people are ridiculous in Giza and Cairo. Even the staff.
The room says less for its price. The air conditioning didn’t work at all. I didn’t tell the staff because im so tired to move rooms. I’m a very sweaty person so I couldn’t sleep well for three nights. They didn’t share any wifi information. The bathroom had the toilet in the same place but didn’t have curtains so I needed to continuously care about not making the floor wet. No amendments, only 5 small bottle of shampoo, no soap. The second night, found a small bed bug. The only bug throughout the three nights. The door squeak every single time. The bedsheets have yellow stains and dusty. Towels also had yellow stains. Had to use my own bath towel.
They serve breakfast(the only photo I took) but they don’t give you tools to eat it. Ate it with my hand. The staff gives a bad vibe, but you have to ask them to make you breakfast. You’ll eat at the roof top with a nice view of the pyramids but the chairs and tables seem like it’s not changed for how many years.
The outside of the hotel was so filthy because of the horses passing by anytime of the day. Sometimes you’ll hear firework noises at night. Buying at the local store is a hassle trying to scam you more than the normal price.
The people were looking at me like I’m a treasure box full of gold. The hotel needs to be a hotel if they want to have a 6 from me. Don’t recommend this hotel if you can choose...
Read moreI wish there was a 2.5 review because the receptionist took a promise from me to give them a "5" on review. I promised, thinking I could give them 5/10.
Nevertheless, let me start with pros:
Now, cons:
Was surprised he could put his face thru to request for 5 star review. Not sure how many reviews here are genuine.
The trip to Cairo was saved by Mr.Osama, Mr.Mahmoud (the owner of hotel) and the quiet tour driver with his good car. Otherwise, it would have been...
Read moreWe booked a 5-night stay at Makadi Pyramids Hotel and, unfortunately, had a mixed experience.||||The Downsides:||Upon arrival, we were given the wrong room. While the staff was generally helpful, service throughout our stay was slow. Breakfast was underwhelming—there was no coffee on the first morning. The room itself was quite dated, especially the bathroom. Curtain rings were rusted, and the bathtub area leaked, leaving the floor wet constantly.||||They promised to pack breakfast for us as we were leaving for a tour early but nothing was packed.||||We ordered dinner to enjoy on the rooftop, but due to slow service and cold weather, we had to eat in the room—where there was no proper dining space. The hotel lacks an elevator, so we had to climb several flights of stairs with our luggage. The second room we were moved to didn’t have hangers or basic toiletries, which was disappointing. The surrounding area was quite noisy and not very clean.||||The Upsides:||The highlight of our stay was the view of the Pyramids from our room and the rooftop—it was truly beautiful. The bed was also comfortable, which made sleeping pleasant.||||Overall, while the view and bed were nice, the hotel needs significant improvements in cleanliness, maintenance, and service to meet expectations.||||Most importantly: The Hotel made a fake review using my cousin’s name in booking.com. Please be...
