Stayed in June for three nights. The rooms are relatively spacious, and both the kitchenette and bathroom were nicely stocked. The space could definitely use some touch-ups, but it still has a certain charm. That said, the bedding was a bit off-putting — while the sheets seemed clean, they were visibly stained. In my opinion, if stains can’t be removed, the linens should be replaced entirely.
The biggest plus was the location, it’s about a 5-minute walk to the boardwalk and close to a number of good restaurants. Very convenient.
Unfortunately, much of the rest of the experience was disappointing. Our stay supposedly included beach tags, but no one provided them, so we ended up paying out of pocket. When we raised this, the front desk staff weren’t held accountable, and there was no resolution.
The pool area also lacked basic supervision — no lifeguards or staff in sight — leaving it overrun with unsupervised kids diving and running around. It didn’t feel safe, and it created an awkward dynamic where the adults present felt responsible for keeping things in check. Quiet hours weren’t enforced either, so we regularly heard kids running through the halls, even late at night. The walls are quite thin, so you’ll also hear your neighbors including full conversations and the occasional screaming match whether you want to or not. I don’t blame the families, but I do think the hotel should invest more in infrastructure and staffing to ensure a more balanced experience for all guests.
Lastly, the “balcony view” was so odd. Ours was indoors, with no sunlight or outdoor air more of a window into an atrium than a true balcony.
Overall, the location and room basics were decent, but the lack of guest support, supervision, and soundproofing really detracted from the experience. This place has potential, but it’s not being managed with the care or attentiveness it needs to truly deliver a...
Read moreWe stayed overnight on Sept 20, 2025 for a quick mini vacation. Although we’ve vacationed in Ocean City, NJ for decades, we never stayed at Watsons Regency Suites before. We now have a new favorite go to place to stay in Ocean City, NJ!||Watsons Regency Suites is conveniently located within a short walk (5 mins) to the famous Ocean City boardwalk and the beach and within easy walking distance to several restaurants on the boardwalk or in town. There is free parking on site, and an indoor heated pool! The staff are very friendly. The hotel is very clean (although some glass in the pools and elevators could use some cleaning).||Our suite, 320, was wonderful and decorated in a classic Ocean City look. We loved it! The suite has a well appointed kitchen, a dining table, a living room with a TV and access to a balcony with a direct view to the boardwalk in the distance. The bedroom is separate with a queen bed and a large closet with a safe. There’s access to the balcony here as well. (The balcony has a large table with chairs that would be great for a meal in clement weather.) There is a TV in the bedroom as well. ||There is a large bathroom with a bathtub.||We found the suite very comfortable and roomy. The kitchen has an electric stove/oven, and a good sized refrigerator/freezer.||If we had any quibble with the suite, the bed’s mattress was very firm. This could easily be remedied with a padded plush (3”) mattress pad. The pillows were nice and the sheets were clean and comfortable.||The pool is very large with lots of seating and towels supplied at pool side. There are restrooms and showers at the pool. There are soda machines on each level of the hotel.||We can’t wait to book a stay there again! We highly recommend you stay at the Watsons...
Read moreThis place was a great find so close to the beach. We had a wonderful experience and will definitely be back. I have to say that I don’t understand most of the negative reviews. To address a couple, I think people need to know that all of these suites are individually owned, so they won’t all look exactly the same. Some are a bit dated, and some are very upgraded. We ended up with a moderately upgraded suite, so I was very happy. And it was right across from the pool! Great for the kids. Second, if you were upset that your balcony was interior facing, then I suggest researching future hotel stays and looking at photos. I’m pretty sure our reservation even indicated that it was an interior facing room. We loved the convenience of walking out our slider door to the pool. Third, pull-out couches are uncomfortable. That’s no one’s fault. I’ve never found one that’s comfortable. The ones here were average. I’ve definitely seen worse (and at least it was the kids sleeping on them in our case…). The bedroom, on the other hand, was very comfortable. My only “complaint” is there was no hand soap in the kitchen or paper towels. We flew through lots of baby wipes cleaning up after the kids. Other than that, the kitchen had literally anything you could need. Overall, with the separate spaces for our family, the convenience of a full kitchen, an indoor pool, and a two block walk to the beach, you can’t beat the value here. (And whoever says the staff are rude…I have to wonder how you treated them. Everyone we came across was super nice and even went out of their way to help us and our extended family members who were only visiting us for the day.) If you’re thinking about this...
