Zeleste — Restaurant in Copenhagen Municipality

We made a reservation online the day before. We arrived on Saturday evening (21 May) and had the choice of eating in the courtyard which we chose to do. Our server gave us the menu but she didn't ask us if we have visited before. My other half ordered a steak and a side and I ordered the crab salad plus a side. Our server didn't explain the menu to us and she didn't ask how we would like the steak cooked. Our drinks arrived without the water I asked for. I had to remind the lady when the food came. The steak arrived along with my side. Our server then told me they had run out of crab and the chef had prepared a waffle with lump fish roe instead. Bearing in mind my partners food had arrived, I said I was ok with the alternative. The lack of crab should have been called out when she took our food order. The food was ok but wasn't anything special but I realised after receiving my waffle and roe that it was the size of a starter. After we had finished eating our server didn't clear our plates away nor did she ask if our food was ok or if we wanted anything else. We waited so long that in the end we just asked for and paid the bill and left. Sorry to give the minimum rate. However, it is because: 1. The menu provides minimum choices. Plus, don't trust the pictures of the dishes you see on websites like TripAdvisor, because they change the menu constantly (what I was told by the waitress). Long long wait for the main course!!! Be careful! Ask for the main course earlier if you can, otherwise probably gonna wait for an hour. Unpleasant service. The waitress has no patience to listen, and denied my complain of the waiting time. The taste of the food is just on average, barely meeting expectations. This might be tricky, but in this restaurant, if you order beef, you should ask for how you'd like it to be cooked. If you don't ask, they take it as medium rare. Just be aware of this. And if you are not good with medium rare and ask them to redo the dish, they treat the medium well like this-burnt beef (sorry for the unpleasant picture). Beyond all the above, they did not show any apologies to the unpleasant experience of customers, making it really a disappointed dining...

We were greeted at the door shown to a very nice table in the courtyard and then completely ignored. After 20 minutes I went to the front and told the fellow that had seated us that no one had waited on us yet. He said he would look after that. After anot15 minutes we noticed a coup that cawesnot even been acknowledged by the waitress,.our seat was in the middle of the room and it wasn’t that busy. For the very first time in our lives we put on our coats and left the restaurant and nobody even noticed. It was our only bad experience during our 5 day holiday in Copenhagen.
