It's a tourist trap. We went inside the restaurant at 4:25 pm, the waiter gave us a menu, we ordered tea, fish and chips, lobster, a burger and pasta after like 15 minutes from the moment we entered the restaurant. When I said a burger, the waiter asked "a what? Ah a cheeseburger" they didn't bring us mugs for the tea and when the waiter came with the food he didn't bring us the burger and told us that we didn't order a burger. That moment I was like "you repetead after me when we order it"... We didn't drink water and they still wanted to charge us for 1 bottle because the bottles of water were already on the tables. The fish and chips were tasteless and when waiter came with the receipt (we were a little bit stupid because we paid and just after we checked the receipt, probably because we didn't expect something like that to happen), we checked the receipt and asked for the menu again because we couldn't understand why the prices were different than the menu, asked the waiter and he told us "Yeah, the first menu wasn't for the Lunch". That moment we were all "poker faced" and asked why did he bring us a menu and the taxed us with the prices from the other menu, that moment the waiter told us that after 5:00 pm, they automatically change the menu, but we ordered at 4:45. The prices were almost doubled. We said that this isn't legal and he was like "ah you can send us an email, you wont probably get the money back but.. you can still send an email." Don't go there. Literally a scam. I am very dissapointed to...
Read moreAs a longtime resident of Nyhavn, I’ve always held a deep appreciation for this area and the warmth it typically offers. That’s why my recent visit to this restaurant was especially disappointing.
I came with two friends, though I was the only one planning to eat. We made this clear from the start, and the waiter was kind and accommodating—offering us a front-row table so we could enjoy the sunshine. It was a lovely gesture that we appreciated.
Unfortunately, the tone of the experience changed abruptly. After I placed my order, another staff member—who appeared to be a manager—came over and asked us to move to a table further back. When I asked why, I was told it was because only one of us was dining. There was no room for discussion or flexibility. The decision felt less about logistics and more about optics—perhaps a concern over how it looked to have just one person eating at a prime table. It felt dismissive and frankly, quite humiliating.
To add to the discomfort, I was told I couldn’t split the bill with my friends, even though I was the only one ordering. The focus seemed entirely on enforcing arbitrary policies, rather than making guests feel welcome.
This experience doesn’t reflect the spirit of Nyhavn that I know and love. Hospitality should be about warmth and inclusion—not rules and appearances. I wouldn’t return, and I wouldn’t recommend this place—not because of the food, but because of how we were...
Read moreI’m truly disappointed by my experience at this restaurant. As someone who lives on Nyhavn and has cherished this area for years, it saddens me deeply to see how this place has changed.
I came with two friends, but I was the only one who wanted to eat. We made this clear to the waiter, who kindly told us it was no problem and even offered us a table in the front row so we could enjoy the sunshine — something we were really looking forward to.
However, after I placed my order, another staff member — who seemed to be a manager — abruptly asked us to move to a different table away from the front, with no explanation. When I asked why, he said it was because only one of us was ordering. I couldn’t help but feel that this decision was based purely on the appearance on the restaurant— perhaps not wanting passing tourists to see only one person dining. It felt dismissive and frankly quite humiliating.
To make things worse, we were told we couldn’t split the bill, even though I was the only one ordering. The whole situation left a bad impression— not from the food, but from how we were treated.
This is not the Nyhavn I know and love. It’s disheartening to see hospitality replaced with such rigid, unwelcoming behavior. I genuinely wouldn’t recommend this place to others — not because of the food, but because of how they...
