Where to begin... We had booked a wine and cupcake pairing at the Gettysburg location. I even called a few days before because when you ordered tickets it only listed the Grantville location. Therefore, I called and spoke with a lady named Jessica who assured me that they were planning to have the cupcake pairing at the Gettysburg location and that in fact she would be working the Saturday we arrived. Upon arrival I spoke with Jessica she indicated that her boss at the grantville location noted that we didn't get anyone to sign up for the Gettysburg pairing with the cupcakes. I explained to Jessica that the website did not allow you to select the location in turn Jessica called her boss and explained the situation which would also explain why there were no cupcakes because no one signed up because nobody could sign up. And Jessica advised that when she called and talked to her boss she was expecting cupcakes there as well at the Gettysburg location. In fact according to Jessica as of the day of the event it was still showing that Gettysburg location was going to have the wine and cupcake pairing between 11:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. . Jessica was very helpful and we did get the full dollar amount credit and did a successful wine taste but it's a little bit frustrating and I gather from what I could make of the conversation between Jessica and the owner who I'm assumed Jessica was talking to that the owner was unaware that the website wasn't reflecting the ability to choose locations. I might suggest in the future that once the event is established online the owner go in as if they were actually aghast and see if the functionality is what they think it's going to be. Although Jessica and the crew at Gettysburg were very polite and conciliatory towards our situation it would have been nice if we could have received something gratis as a way to make up for the inconvenience created by the issue on the website. However in fairness they're sangria is very good tasting I would...
Read moreI have given this place more than enough chances, but I think they're terrible. Idk what they are doing to their wines, but they just don't taste right, like they are dumping ethanol in to grape juice, or something. Spending $20/bottle is a lot when I have had some fantastic wines at half the price. Even their slushes are overpriced; they are cheaper at Adams county winery, and they have an outdoor pizza oven! The most atrocious thing is that the alcohol content is so low, and the sulfites are so high! I am a lightweight, normally after 1 glass I am buzzed, I drank half the bottle of J&P, and all I felt was a headache from the sulfites.....which normally never happens to me.... maybe that's the reason for the weird aftertaste? Just a thought. Well, anyway, I have purchased like 5/6 bottles from this place, trying to find one I liked....I didn't. I am done. There are better, more local...
Read moreOur wine tasting crew stopped by at 3:30 on a Thursday afternoon. We were given menus to choose 5 wines for our tasting. The cost was $6.00. I have to say that none of us ever leave a sample of wine. At J&P we could not drink ANY of the samples we had. Every one of them smelled like acetone and tasted as if they had been sitting for weeks. The server said she didn't understand, she had just tasted them last week. All of these were horrible. I hate writing reviews like this... We were given bowls of popcorn and plastic cups that had 2 Ritz crackers and 2 cheeses as a snack. Ugh... We are NOT snooty. This...
