A great example of the importance of supporting local, independent businesses in Jackson so they can continue to employ stellar folks in the community. I went in one afternoon and employee Wade spent time talking to me about what boots might work best for me and explaining the pro/cons of models. (Worth noting that I also witnessed Wade calmly and professionally handle a very rude customer while continuing to visit with other folks.) Two days later I had time to come back to try on boots. Employee Levi spent a committed amount of time helping me fit and dial in which models would work best for me. Levi gave me plenty of time to try on boots and patiently showed me some unique fit tips on each boot I tried. Between the knowledge of Wade and Levi, for the first time ever I was able to find a pair of ski boots that I love. At check out, although I did not get her name, the employee at the register was pleasant and excitedly chatted about my choice in boots. My thanks to all of the employees for making my experience...
Read moreThis is the first review I think I have ever written. This store has great merchandise. I could buy virtually all my casual wear there. However, I can't help feeling duped by the prices of the binoculars and I feel I must warn others. I ALMOST paid $225 for a pair of Celestron Nature 10x42 binoculars that I luckily learned can be bought on Amazon for $107 and even on the Celestron website for $149! Instead I knowingly but out of desperation before heading to Yellowstone paid $54 for a Celestron Nature10x25 monocular that can be bought regular price on Amazon and B&H for $29 and at most from REI for $39. Are these mismarked or intentionally overpriced for unsuspecting tourists? I understand upcharging in tourist destinations, but by twice as much or more? That seems...
Read moreThis is one of our favorite shops for mountaineering and climbing gear and apparel. And it has one of the best selections around of mountaineering/hiking boots...for men AND women. A lot of stores will have technical footwear choices for men but not the same caliber of offerings for women. Not here. Lots of options for women. I have shopped at Teton Mountaineering for decades and I live NOWHERE near the store. But I do make a point to trip into Jackson when I am in the area, just to be sure to stop at Teton Mountaineering. If you are just getting into hiking/mountaineering or are an experienced climber/hiker, these folks will help you with your gear, footwear, clothing, and information needs. My hiking boots from my last visit at Teton Mountaineering for...
