NO HOT WATER FOR 4 DAYS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE COLDEST DAYS OF THE YEAR. This place is an absolute joke since the new management took over a couple months ago. Since they have taken over only 2 months ago, the hot water has gone out TWICE! There is absolutely zero urgency from the management team in getting the hot water back up and running. This latest hot water outage started on Friday 3/14 at 10am. Management left later that day around 6p for the weekend WITHOUT THE HOT WATER BEING FIXED. They finally sent someone out on Saturday and then sent an email out on Saturday 3/15 around 11am stating that the hot water was back on. I got back home around 1:30p and the hot water was still not working. I went downstairs to talk to management and they said “It’s fixed, just give it a couple hours for the hot water to work its way through the pipes.” Sounds nice and all, but they said this same thing the last time the hot water went out and we ended up going another 2 days without it. I told them they are full of crap because that’s what they said last time and they said okay well we have someone coming out to fix it right now. So which is it? Either it’s fixed and the hot water needs time to circulate, or it’s not really fixed and you have someone coming to fix it… it was neither! No one came to fix it AND the hot water never came back on so their claim of “It just needs to circulate through the pipes!” was just more lies and BS, just like the first time the hot water went out last month. It is now Monday 3/17 AND THERE IS STILL NO HOT WATER!! They literally just upgraded the toilets to new toilets that are “low flush”. These new toilets are horrible. It takes 3 flushes now to get rid of the waste inside the toilet. They spent all this money on needless toilet downgrades instead of FIXING THE RECURRING PROBLEM OF THE HOT WATER GOING OUT EVERY MONTH!!
There are plenty more things this apartment gets wrong: -Zero privacy. They have entered everyone’s units at least 8 times in the last 6 months for various reasons. -Zero urgency on maintenance requests. My smoke detector was beeping so I went downstairs to tell management and the property manager Jack told me “The maintenance team has already left for the day, just unplug it and we’ll send someone up first thing tomorrow.” Ummmm that’s super dangerous. And guess what? No one came the next day. I placed an “emergency” work order on Thursday for the the smoke detector and they didn’t get it fixed until Tuesday!!! Their “emergency” maintenance number for after hours is literally just a man who answers and tells you “We’ll send someone out tomorrow morning.” That’s not what an emergency maintenance number is for! -Unsafe parking lot. The parking space next to mine is taken by someone who rides motorcycles. Their motorcycle was stolen FROM THE PROPERTY while parked inside the gates. -Pet waste ALL over. Every other morning I go to work and there’s dog urine all over the floor in the elevators. The common areas outside smell like pee from all the lazy dog owners letting their dogs urinate there instead of somewhere...
Read moreElisha, Nicole and Bree make great a team! There's a lot of imperative things that are requirements when living in Hollywood and the Alta Ink checks all the boxes for me. I've lived in other "so-called" luxury apartments nearby in the same price range that fail miserably on the most basic management duties.
Alta Ink is really good about having a secure parking garage (especially being near the influx of transients and homeless problem near the freeway), a security guard that is actually present, a maintenance crew that will be there and fix the problem on the same day and being polite.
Even though the apartment is directly across the Fire Department, I don't hear the sirens and the sound proofing is fairly good for it's location. The rooftop is pretty baller. Having a West sunset facing community rooftop without any obstruction is pretty rare in Hollywood since my experience of most of these apartment tours have been mostly those narrow 2nd level courtyards that feels a bit claustrophobic and cookie cutter. As far as amenities It lacks an actual pool and full size dog park but it doesn't really apply for my needs.
I like the fact that the elevator is secure and doesn't let random people go to your floor if they were given access to the lobby. Also great that they have a private room for Amazon deliveries.
As far as tenants, a major concern I had before moving in was how loud or inconsiderate the tenants would be since I know it's Hollywood and expect the usual obnoxious "I'm the main character" types but everyone here is respectful of their noise and space, especially during the weekdays. The weekends can get a little louder but it's not noticeable in your unit and expected that for choosing to live on Hollywood boulevard. The community here is pretty good about cleaning up after their pets. My last apartment had a lot of horrible dog owners that would let their dogs poop in the elevator and walk away like nothing happened.
A long list of things that I personally enjoy about the Alta Ink that I can list from the fridge crushed ice options, quick A/C and heat, the stove is gas (not electric), elevator is fast af (tested the time from the other apartment and took almost a full minute and a half to get down with nobody waiting), bathroom has vanity mirror lights and more. I think this place is so good because my last "luxury" apartment sucked so bad.
I guess the only things I can complain about is wish they used Google Nest for their thermostat instead of Honeywell. The Kitchen air duct exhaust fan was a little stronger. I strongly recommend...
Read moreI really wanted to love this place, but my experience has been extremely disappointing. The prices here are way too high for the area, especially considering how dirty the neighborhood is and how poorly things are maintained. There’s no pool, the rooftop TV barely works, and the overall location just isn’t as clean or nice as promised.
What makes this worse is that management isn’t keeping up with what was discussed before signing. I was reassured that if the car shop noise or construction became an issue, I could easily switch units. I signed my lease after seeing one unit because of the view, and I was told there’d be flexibility if problems came up. I even followed their rules and asked about a better unit on a higher floor — but instead of working with me, they ignored that request and only offered worse units with no view while still demanding I pay more money plus extra fees.
On top of that, the billing has been confusing, with unexpected charges popping up and slow responses whenever I ask for clarity. At one point, there was such a strong smell in the building we thought it was a gas leak. We’ve also experienced the fire alarms going off late at night, forcing us to evacuate, with little communication or resolution from management.
Then, when I reserved a conference space in advance for an important Maxim Magazine meeting, I showed up and a woman who claimed she worked for management said it was “her space” and kicked me out — even though I had booked it ahead of time. Being spoken to like that by someone supposedly representing management was completely unprofessional and unacceptable.
Honestly, the “2 months free” special now feels like a sales tactic to get people in, but once you’re locked into the lease, it’s nearly impossible to make changes or get clear answers. And truthfully, I’ve seen even worse behavior from staff that I’m leaving out for now, hoping management addresses these concerns first.
I hope management takes this seriously and makes things right, because I’d love to update or change this review if we start seeing real improvements. I was so excited to move in, focus on my modeling work, and enjoy living here — but right now, it’s been a nightmare. I really wanted to leave 5 stars and love it here —...
