I have been coming to this establishment for nearly 30 years, and it saddens me to say how much it has changed. For decades, this was one of my favorite places to visit—a spot I would happily drive 35 miles to enjoy, because the food, service, and overall atmosphere always made the trip worthwhile. Unfortunately, in recent years, the experience has gone downhill, especially when it comes to customer service.

On multiple occasions now, I’ve arrived well before closing, only to be turned away. Most recently, at 11:14 pm, we were told we could neither dine in nor order food to go, even though the kitchen doesn’t close until 11:30 pm. After almost three decades of being a loyal customer, I know the policies and times well, and “last call” has always been understood to mean 11:30 pm, not 15 minutes earlier. It is extremely frustrating to make such a long drive, only to be refused service before the actual cutoff time.

What’s most disappointing is not just being turned away, but the unprofessional manner in which it’s handled. The warm hospitality and consistency that once defined this place seem to have disappeared, replaced with a dismissive attitude that makes longtime customers feel unwelcome.

BAD SERVICE! They never came back to refill water and we all ran out of water in the middle of the meal. We kept waiting and waiving, but they never came until after we finished eating to drop off the bill. On top of this, they FORCE everyone to pay over 15% tip. They did NOT earn that tip! They are sneaky. They add the tip as a line item, and they fold the receipt to hide the tip they added, and they DO NOT disclose or list the amount they charge for tip (service fee) on the receipt. Additionally, they don't give you the receipt to keep after you pay. They only accept cash. We unfolded the receipt and noticed the amount charged was wrong and overcharged. The waitresses are very aggressive when we ask about the overcharge and undisclosed mandatory tip no matter the size of your party. The waitresses lie claiming that the menu indicates there's a mandatory tip, but we did not see it on the menu. They have QR code for the menu, and no where does it indicate there's a mandatory gratuity fee. Gratuity is earned and depends on the quality of the service. The only disadvantage I have experienced is the parking. The restaurant is located in Hollywood and street parking is hard to find. Fortunately, this place is blocks away from the tourist zone, so, street parking is relatively easy to find. The hours are from 5 pm to 1:30 am every day (included Sundays) and they close a little later on Fridays and Saturdays. Cost of the food is affordable, specially for the delicious and extraordinary flavor of every dish. Thai food is to be eaten 'Family Style', this is, every plate is enough for three or four people. If you are Vegan or Vegetarian, tell your Waitress when ordering because the Chef can substitute the chicken or beef broth with a one made of vegetables, and substitute sea food, beef, pork, and chicken meat, with tofu. I strongly recommend the Pad See Ew; Curry Coconut Soup, and the Pad Thai. Service is extremely fast; in two or three minutes, you have your order on the table.
