The Islander — Local services in Ocean City

Went into this store august 10th, my wife found a cute dress she wanted to wear to dinner, we asked one of the salespeople if there was a fitting room, she told us no but the return policy is 14 days as long as the clothing was not worn it could be returned for either a store credit or an exchange. About 2 hour later we got back to our room , she tried the dress on and it didn't fit properly so we took it back to exchange it as we were told we could when purchased. The woman at the counter said oh im sorry it was on sale and can't be retruned or exchanged. Sign on the wall said entire store was 20 % off, so I asked does that mean everything is final sale, the woman said no, we have a 14 day return policy either exchange or store credit. So again I asked to exchange the dress and was told it was on sale so I can't help you. Was by far the worst shopping experience ever in ocean city, I highly recommend staying away from this shop , the staff flat out lie about store policy and...

The Islander and Nordstrom are my 2 favorite stores on the planet!! I've been shopping at the Islander for the past 11 years. (I'm 39, been shopping there since age 28.) Their clothes and accessories are beautiful and unique. They also have shoes and some great home items, as well as some books. This store is one in a million. Anything I've ever bought here I have never seen on another person. Their items are so unique and nice quality too. I make sure to get to the Islander, minimum, once/summer and I always come away with great shoes, dresses, outfits, and jewelry.....as well as some knick knacks for my home. You'll love this store. Adorable boutique, but unfortunately after being closely followed by a worker throughout the store the entire 3 minutes I was trying to shop I quickly decided it was not worth it (mind you I was NOT the only one in the store but the only one being followed). I also walked into the store with not even a handbag on me, just a debit card in my back pocket as my husband was at the entrance with our child and stroller - I am not only a resident but have been walking tne OCNJ boards my entire life. so to be followed that closely and to feel as uncomfortable as I did was absolutely ridiculous and I will NEVER recommend that experience or...
