Stay away from Lake Thunderbird. Been going here for 20+years. The new parking at Clear Bay boat ramp is the most piss poor design and a complete waste of funds I have ever seen. The camp grounds have not been maintained. Over grown grass, trash cans over flowing, mud covering the rv pads and nothing being done about it. Rv camp spots cost more than any park in the State and most don't even have full hookups. Dump stations notorious for not working and park restrooms not cleaned or maintained. Ohh don't forget you must pay to park. Where is that money going ? The park was taken care of a lot better before the parking frees started. The park office, park rangers, park management and local news stations have been notified by many people only for it to fall on deaf ears. Only thing anyone seems to care about is a cow that is often seen on the shore line of the lake and recently made it on the news. First, if you can get someone to answer the phone they send you to a number that states they are currently closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. Terrible management of Oklahoma's public lands. Everyone that is in charge is hired politically or bc they are a friend and have zero knowledge in the field.
