We went here after the Pearl Jam concert, since it is in the hotel that we're staying at, and was a recommended stop by the staff, we were excited to go! While the decor is lovely, the teenager at a nightclub lineup at the velour rope with a door monkey determining if you can "get in" while allowing his buddies etc straight in. I wanted to leave at that point. My wife was more patient and wanted to go for the experience. Finally we get in, and it's a stunning space. However, the endless wait at the bar was less impressive. After finally getting our drinks, my wife's French Martini was exceptionally bland to the point of tasting like it had been heavily watered down. We returned to the bar where again we waited an inordinate amount of time to get served, we enquired if this was the regular standard of their martini? We were informed that the martini comes from a premade/prepackaged mix, so they should all be the same. We asked if we could get a different drink as the one we had was definitely not satisfactory. The reply was I can remake your original drink, but can not offer a different option (we would never have ordered it if we knew it was made in a mix batch.) So we took the offer of a remake, which while not tasting as watered down, was equally unappealing. My wife noticed many women with the same drink and asked their opinions, since were not being drank. All agreed that the drink was terrible tasting. My old fashioned merely okay. Paying NYC drink prices in OKC you'd expect handcrafted beverages. Come for decor, spritely conversation but skip the drinks, especially the French Martini. BTW I also included a picture of the CRACKED glass they served my old fashioned in! I didn't see it in the bar because it is so dark in there. Definitely don't recommend getting a...
Read moreWe visited the Library of Distilled Spirits while staying in the National Autograph for a concert and visited the bar both nights we stayed. The mood and ambiance were stunning from the first steps down the stairs to the vault. There was a small wait both nights we visited - occupancy is listed at 62, so it's a small venue. The hostess did a good job of keeping count and we had no issues getting in within 10 minutes. The bar was beautiful, but again it is a small venue so be prepared - this doesn't seem to be the place for a large group, but more for an intimate evening. The seating runs along the perimeter of the bar, with small end tables to place drinks. You may have to sit closer to strangers than you're comfortable with. There is also seating at the bar. A few servers were off the nights we visited, so we found we received drinks quicker when we approached the bar ourselves; otherwise, one or two employees were working the floor and taking orders. We were impressed with the drinks and the bartenders were skilled in their craft. We were served by Tyler, Ryland, and Zach and they were all knowledgeable, friendly, and attentive even though they were very busy. This bar is quite pricey, but I believe if you go in expecting an experience then you will enjoy yourself. It's not a bar to spend hours in with a big group, though. I will recommend this bar to everyone I know, and plan to...
Read moreCame here with a large group of friends on a Saturday night. There was a private party already going in the area called “The Archives” the night we went.
Location of the bar is in the basement of the historic First National Bank building,
The entire bar and the building it’s location inside of, is luxurious! I had a good time and they have good music as well. One waitress was a tad rude since the bar was busy and our group was by the bar, she didn’t want us standing in the way she walked and complained a little.
Besides that one waitress, the place was amazing! I would still recommend it since she may have had a cruddy day (not an excuse to be rude but I get it).
More of an upscale vibe, in the vault area. The archive area is more open somewhat and has room for people to have food, graze around and even dance!
The atmosphere is to die for! It’s the perfect blend of antique but modern. 😍🍸
From their website: The Library of Distilled Spirits houses over 1,500 unique expressions of distilled spirits. The curated collection is documented in the Library’s Encyclopedia, which highlights the rich history of making liquor from fermentation through distillation, aging, and blending.
If you’re in Oklahoma and are downtown at night. PLEASE stop by for a drink. It’s on my new list of “things to do” for people who now stop...
