I delayed my review because I was furious. However, despite the fact that I will not use this service in the future. I will use the orange trolley service. Mike, the tour guide was very informative. Unfortunately he kept the plastic down so we couldn't take photographs on our side of the trolley. So ultimately we got off and walked back from the fountain to the riverfront. We enjoyed our meandering along the riverfront. This is where I became frustrated. At 415 we situated ourselves at the marketplace near the bus stop for the trolley. When it didn't arrive by a quarter of 5:00. I called the phone number on the booth at the stop. I was told by Michelle that they don't drive along the riverfront on Sunday and oops somebody should have told us. And I agree we could have oriented ourselves much better had we known this. So she recommended that we walk up to Bay Street and wait at that stop. 5:00, I called Michelle again but got her male co-worker. Because we were not sure on which side of the road to be standing on as Mike made it quite clear that if we were not at the exact spot they would not pick us up end of discussion. This male co-worker said that ALL of the trolleys were not in route and were all back in the barn/ garage/ parking lot and none of them were moving around despite the fact that we are at stop 12. He made this emphatically clear. So looking at our options we could walk the mile plus to our car. Or we could grab a taxi. I've traveled a lot so we walked over to one of the hotels and hired one of their chauffeurs to drive us back to our car. As we sat in the hired car @510 pm we watched the non-existent white Olde Savannah trolley come to the stop 12 that we had just left. I don't begrudge the chauffeur for his money, but I do the male co-worker who did not know what he was talking about. What is also greatly upsetting is the Absence of Communication between the roving trolleys and headquarters. I consider this a safety and medical Hazard and needs to be looked into. I do not recommend the Old Savannah trolley because of this. What is of note is four orange trolleys went down River Street and one of the gray line trolleys was on River Street. I see no excuse for the 4:30 trolley not...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband & I booked the trolley tour because it looked like a fun way to explore Savannah & avoid a lot of hassle with parking. Pricing for the trolley is variable based upon if you have a discount code, coupon, book online, or ??..
We opted to book in person at the Welcome Center. There is free parking there, so easy to leave your vehicle there. Once inside the Welcome Center, there are options to book additional tours. A little bit of upselling, but it is one stop shopping & there is some benefit with discounts offered.
After purchasing our trolley tickets, we went outside to wait with a group of people for the next trolley. Unfortunately, there was no room except for 2 passengers. So, hurry up & wait for the next trolley.
While chatting with others waiting for the trolley, they said they had been standing around for quite awhile. One couple got frustrated & gave up. They went back inside the Welcome Center & said they canāt keep waiting anymore & asked for a refund. They were denied a refund & told, āNo Refunds.ā
Sorry, but what about the, ā100% satisfaction guarantee,ā listed on the flyer?
After awhile, we got tired of standing around & waiting, too. We started walking to the historic district.
After seeing a few sights, we got on the trolley to go back to the Welcome Center. The trolley did a short loop around, then the driver said it was end of the line & let us off at a stop that was not the Welcome Center. He said it was a short walk back to the Welcome Center. I was quite unclear why we had to get off at this other stop instead of where the tour started & where we were parked. But thatās what we had to do.. I supposeā¦
In conclusion, if we had an opportunity to repeat the day, we would have skipped paying for the trolley &...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was my first experience with Old Town and what a blast! So so helpful when new to the city and it helped us get a lay of the area to plan for the rest of our stay. The customer service is spot on wonderful. The signage and guided map brochures so helpful. Can I give a kudos and shout out to our first driver/Tour Guide, Josh and our second driver/Tour Guide, Tony were the best! Loved their style, friendliness and knowledge. We rode 3 Trolleys that day and we got different information from each one of them. I liked that throughout the day. The stops are well marked and the consistency and reliability is so worth it. We spent time enjoying the town instead of fighting over traffic and parking spaces. The seats are comfortable and the viewing windows perfect for taking photos through. Not to worry, they have these shades or protective drop down shields for when it rains. I had such a ball making friends with a whole trolley of strangers. I laughed so hard when a group of us got drenched and were messing w/opening and closing the window covers. I am giggling now how it was like being a kid on a water ride. The personalities of these two tour guides included riders and made the rides personable. Hello, Theresa and "Theresa's family". LOL! The seats are comfortable and yes, stopping at 15 spots was excellent. Hopping off and on was so useful. After a few stops one is almost sad to see a couple or a group of folks get off because of the laughter that shared. From the visitors center to the staff at each informational booth or check in...good job! I will always always recommend your business to everyone I know moving forward. Excellent service and education so so worth every dime. Thank you & God Bless all that everyone does to...
