I have previously tastes dosas from Dosa Dosa during one of the vegan food markets that happen quarterly in Prague. This time I finally decided to give them a go for a full lunch experience in their bistro and I must say that I can 100% recommend it! The bistro is quite small so make sure to make a reservation if coming at busy times like lunch or dinners but that makes the space feel nice and cosy as well. The service is great! Complimentary water is brought to your table as soon as you sit down which still isn't the norm in Prague unfortunately. I started of with their Masala which if you never had it is a pleasant warm spiced drink that is slightly sweet but nothing extreme like a chai latte in my opinion. It was delicious, very gingery! Also I'd like to note that if you go for a coffee they have a great collection of different plant based milk (Oat, Almond, Coconut and even Potato, though from personal experience skip that one :D ) For main, I opted for their Panang Curry with jasmine rice. Oh boy was that delicious, it was unlike most curries I had. It was very fresh thanks to the addition of fresh herbs like mint, basil and coriander. The vegetables also aren't undercooked and they are cut quite small so you get a bit at every bite. Tofu is well made as well, it doesn't have that weird soy taste that some brands have. It is made with coconut milk so it is super filling and I definitely wasn't hungry for...
Read moreWhile visiting Prague, we sought out vegetarian options for dinner and decided on Indian food, a typically reliable choice for vegetarians. We were also craving something with a bit more flavor. We ordered the masala dosa, mushroom dosa with sambar, and masala chai.
The chai was underwhelming—lacking the ginger or cardamom we were hoping for, which would have added warmth and depth. As for the dosas, they were quite average. Instead of incorporating spice (mirchi) into the aloo or mushrooms, they simply sprinkled red chili flakes on top. The tomato chutney tasted more like a cold tomato soup, and the sambar was a thin, mildly spiced vegetable broth, with very few vegetables.
Overall, if you’re familiar with authentic Indian food, you may find this experience disappointing. The food seems tailored more to a European palate, lacking the spice and depth that traditionally elevate these dishes. After reading more reviews, we noticed that higher ratings mostly came from locals, while lower ratings tended to be from South Asian diners. This makes sense, but Indian cuisine doesn’t need to be bland to appeal to a broader audience. There are ways to adapt it while still preserving the authenticity and richness of...
Read moreDosa Dosa has completely won me over with their incredible South Indian cuisine and innovative fusion dishes! Just look at the picture – the presentation alone is a work of art! I ordered Vegetarian Uttapam, and it was absolutely divine. The Uttapam were perfectly done and flavorful, and the fillings were a delicious blend of traditional spices with a creative modern twist. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and well-prepared. You can tell they put a lot of love and care into their food. The chutneys, sambar, and vegetable side were also standouts – each one bursting with unique and complementary flavors. The Masala Chai] was the perfect comforting beverage alongside the meal. Beyond the food, the service was also excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive, and happy to answer my questions about the menu. The restaurant itself has a cozy atmosphere, making it a great place for a casual lunch or a special dinner. If you're looking for authentic South Indian food with a fun and exciting twist, Dosa Dosa is a must-visit in Prague! I can't wait to go back and try more of their delicious creations. Highly...
