Friendly reminder: if you want to be treated like a piece of you know what, better GO to this restaurant. We tried eating there but it wasn’t a nice experience at all - in fact, we couldn’t even make a proper order. A waiter who’s working here doesn’t really like being nice to people who just want to eat, pay and have a nice evening. While finally taking our orders (we needed to ask twice about that because he was cleaning glasses at this certain moment and didn’t have time to serve clients at THE RESTAURANT), I asked him about two dishes on the menu. They were written on the website but in Czech only. The question about food seemed to be enough for him to get mad that we take his precious time and that’s why he has chosen to treat me like an air. He took my friends’ orders and after my question about the food and his recommendation he’s just said: “I don’t have time for you” and turned around, never coming back to take my order. Quite unprofessional, huh? :) We don’t really understand being so rude for no reason so my friends cancelled our orders and we all left the restaurant. The waiter was also saying something rude quietly about us when we were canceling the orders. In conclusion - maybe if you’re Czech, this restaurant is going to be a good place to eat but otherwise (if you’re a foreigner) don’t go there. Being treated like a normal human being is rather impossible there. 1 star from me, I would give...

Very comfortable local experience. This IS the family friendly, local beer hang out americans have been trying to emulate the past 10 years. I dont normally leave reviews, but this was a good stop.

As a 35yo female traveling alone i can get strange looks dining solo. I was the only foreigner there at the time. No one raised a brow, went out of their way to engage me, or asked questions about who i was with (in a good way). Very chill, everyone welcome. Menus were in czech and english. I let the server select a beer, i usually dont drink pilsner but this might be one of the best beers ive had. Food was good but i would come again for the beer and easygoing local vibes. Server was very helpful for me figure out the currency as it was my first...

Rude , not happy, age of around 55 man at the bar was a start. Bar was half empty, but half of the tables had "reserved" cards on. So we been squeezed at the small table in the corner (8 people) as we was not permitted to have a "reserved" table cause some people was coming in about 10 minutes (we been told). We was hungry but decided not to have any food just couple of beers due to poor customer service. One of us (most hungry guy) ordered some duck. It was not tasty at all he said. We left after around 90 min - no one showed up for them reserved tables lol No good! Its 1...

A unassuming pub/restaurant with good food at an affordable price. We went there a few times during our stay in Prague and the staff was either ok or amazing depending on the person. The menu is in Czech only but the waiter will translate it for you (you can also use google translate). The food is a bit scarce and depending on your time of visit you might only find out that some items on the menu are still available. Credit cards are accepted here.

I ate 2 times during my 4 day stay in Prague. Food was very tasty, homemade. Very simple restaurant, small menu, good prices. You feel welcome and not tourist, local people were eating too at other tables. They have no desserts, speciality local meals and beer, perfect for lunch, recommendation for beef Goulash with mashed potatoes (you can ask this side dish, it was so delicious). Meal + drink around 280-300czk (11-12€).

Another one of my favorite restaurants in Prague. Great Czech food at great prices. Service is outstanding. Beer is outstanding (from a tank, not a Keg). Beer is always fresh and tastes great. This pub has a real neighborhood atmosphere. Seating inside (and outside in the summer, spring and fall). Highly recommend Pod Petrinem for those who want a real Czech Pub experience.
