The restaurant from the outside looks appealing. The menu looks good but, the actual meals when served are below average. Every country has its culinary gems. Unfortunately, this restaurant seems to have foregone the approach of serving good food and uses the restaurant's location as a means to overcharge for simple meals that do not taste authentic. The inside of the restaurant is nice but the waiters do not clear the table plates to the back of the restaurant. The waiters gather the plates within the main area close to tables where patrons eat their meal to be cleared afterwards.
European countries include service fees in the meal. That said, the Czech Republic suggests giving a tip if the service excelled. In the case of the current restaurant, the service was standard and left a bit to desire. The waiter indicated to give a tip. When indicating that service is included in the meal cost in European countries, the waiter continued to indicate that they are paid little and to give a tip. After two declines to give a tip, the waiter continued. Giving the tip at this point was less for the service and more for feeling sorry for the team working at the restaurant which should not be the case especially that the meal itself was overpriced for what it was.
This culinary experience was overall disappointing. Therefore, the restaurant is not...

When we arrived and seated me and my family waited 20mins, then we decided to ask for a menu and drinks. That day was the world cup final game, so every waiter were watching it. I had to raise my hand at least 10 times before they realized I would like to ask a drink. I had no intention to rate the service because I’m a football fan as well, until I asked for the bill.
I paid 1850 czk and the waiter said the suggested tip is 15%. I said type 2000czk in to the terminal. He was offended by that and after the payment was successful he said “get out of here”. I guessed why, but I tried to ask why are you saying that… he was literally speaking to me (probably cursing) in czech and stood to my face like he wanted to fight and start pushing. Luckly my family was already outside and my 3 years old son didn’t have to watch it.
I dont know how the hospitality works here in czech, but as I understood it was suggested tip, not mandatory. I summed the services and put my tip the way a felt. I didn’t know I got kicked out and almost beaten for that. Next time put on the bill it is suggested because if you not give 15% you’ll be literally kicked out...
Read moreI will start with the positive things, firstly the location is the best you can get in the oldtown square, it's in the heart of the Christmas market at Christmas time. You can see celebration and fireworks from the outside seating. The food is good, we ordered different meals, the burger is above the avg. Salmon is very good, one of the best was the pork neck, you can enjoy the local beer good wine, very good service ( in hurry a bit ) , the waiters can't help you much in choosing your meal. The pricing was average, I can say it's good value for money. The negative note: We were group of 7 people ( Family), asked for check, the waiter brought it immediately, explained that this amount exclude service fees, and wrote on hand writing the amount before service fee and the amount with service adding 10%. Usually we add 15% , but this bad and unrespectful attitude made us pay the 10% they asked and left with really bad feelings. Note: our bill exceeded the 270 Euro, I don't think it was a place to note for your client to add service Fee. A bad thing that we didn't expect from such a "respectful...
