Unfortunately, these reviews are read when it's already too late, but here is mine anyway: My wife fancied an iced coffee, so she bought one from a different shop just two steps away. We all wanted a drink, so we took a seat at "El Toro Negro," and here comes this waiter, "ILoveSteroids," with a fake sense of humility telling us we can't have that foreign coffee sitting at their table. We told him that we were ready to order drinks from them as well, but he insisted it was not permitted. It seemed silly to me, but their bar, their rules, so we decided to go somewhere else immediately without any protests. We stood up quietly and started walking towards the exit, which unexpectedly infuriated the waiter beyond reason. He began swearing and became verbally aggressive, using words like: "You f*king morons. Get the fk out of here!" My wife, our 8-year-old daughter, and I looked at each other in confusion, unable to understand what we had done. I asked him what was wrong with him and why he spoke to us that way, but he charged towards me, more infuriated, threatening to "break my f**king face." I had my child's hand in my right hand and my phone in my left, so while he was walking towards me, I turned my phone to a vertical position, hoping that if he saw I was filming him, he would stop his violent reaction. However, the opposite happened: he aggressively hit my hand with the phone, smashing my two-week-old Samsung S24 Ultra on the hard floor and frightening my child to tears. My little one started crying, and my wife panicked, so we walked away without further debate, accompanied by his insults in the background. We found a police crew around the corner who came back with me and identified him. I don't speak Czech, but I could understand from the words that he was claiming I charged at him and attacked him with my phone (while holding my child with the other hand). What a pathetic human being... Not only did he not regret any of it, but he was now actually portraying himself as the victim. I thought it was wrong to leave this situation unresolved, so I went to the nearest police station and filed a formal complaint for assault. This happened today (02.09.2024), so I'm not sure what will come of it, but I'm inclined to believe there are many other tourists who have been verbally and physically assaulted or scammed by these criminals dressed as waiters, and no complaints have been recorded so far. This is why they now believe it is acceptable to...

We went to this place for a quick drink as it was one of the only places we could get a table. The drinks are expensive, which is what you would expect in this location, but what can not be expected is to be scammed.
When we went to pay, we got the bill, which showed the regular amount, and then an amount with a recommended tip. The waiter gave us the payment machine with the amount including tip, without even asking if we wanted to pay any tip. When we pointed out that we did not want to pay any tip, he said this is not possible. We told him that this is not allowed, the tip is voluntary and therefore we do not have to pay it. We told him we know the laws and know that he can’t make us pay the tip if we don’t want to. I expected him to fold, but he just kept at it. He made up some story that instead of “recommended service fee” he could put “mandatory”, but they don’t do that because the fee would be even higher and they’d have to pay taxes over it. We told him that he’s lying and we wouldn’t pay the tip and call the police if he kept insisting.
After minutes of back and forth, he said he would go away for a bit to give us time to think about it. As he walked away, we left the amount excluding tip in cash at the table, and started to head out. He saw us leaving and counted the cash, telling us that we couldn’t leave as we hadn’t paid the full amount, even threatening to call the police (ironic). He got angry and also told us that if we want to go to a restaurant, we need to make sure we can actually pay the bill. Absolutely ridiculous. I made sure to loudly call him a scammer and a criminal, because that’s what he is. Making it so difficult to leave without paying a tip and then even insulting us, I can understand why most people just give up and pay the tip, even if they are aware it’s not mandatory. It’s criminal behaviour and this place should be shutdown.
To conclude, please do not go to this restaurant. Scammers such as this do not deserve to be...
Read moreI really wish I had read the reviews before visiting this place. The staff is extremely rude!
I should mention that we visited twice. The first time, we had a wonderful waitress (the one with dark hair) who took great care of us. She must be the only exception.
However, when we returned two days later (on August 23rd), we had a terrible experience with the staff. The main issue was with a man sporting a ponytail, who was extremely rude and aggressive. There was also an older bald man and a blonde woman, but the man with the ponytail was particularly problematic. He acted as though customers should feel privileged to be at their restaurant and had no problem yelling at them.
After being seated and waiting for some time, I began placing our order with him, and I was polite about it. I asked for a draft beer, a hot cappuccino, and inquired if they had any cold coffee. He responded with attitude, using hand gestures, and yelled, "Read the menu, I’m too busy." When I asked if he couldn’t simply tell me if they offered cold coffee, he said, "No, read the menu, I don’t want to waste time." I pointed out that his behavior wasn’t saving him any time, to which he just smiled as other customers looked on, realizing how ridiculous he was being.
The next two minutes were tense, as I stopped being polite and caused a scene in front of everyone. My 73-year-old mother, 9-month-old baby, my wife, and I left immediately. We ended up at Pizzeria L’Orologio, just two doors down, where the staff was fantastic, and we had a great night.
To the man with the ponytail: I’m actually grateful for your rudeness because it led us to a much better place. But as for your service, I’d suggest finding a new job—hospitality...
