I wish I could visit again this gallery, only to slap the blonde, arrogant woman working in the gift shop. Never ever have I encountered such a rude, aggressive salesperson/hostess. We googled the gallery and saw that it closes at 20:00-and since it was only 19:20, we entered. All doors were open. We went upstairs, looking to buy a ticket, or check if the gallery is still open. As we entered the Dali exhibit room, just looking around, still unsure if the gallery was open or closed, as there were no signs and all doors were open, this blonde woman arrived and started having a fit, about our lack of knowledge that admissions are not allowed (??), and because I pressed on the light switch. Two days later, we bought a ticket at the entrance (it was morning) and saw the same woman. What a theater, a real drama queen! She checked our tickets silently with a pissed off face. Oh, so she remembered us! She couldn't keep her mouth shut for long, though. She just had to reprimand us. "You know, I told my boss about you, I should have called the police on you! " She refused to acknowledge our arguments -that we offered to buy a ticket the first time, that we were only visiting tourists with good intentions, and she could just inform us that the gallery had closed. I also took the opportunity to mention the other reviews here, which all point to her. She rolled her eyes and told us to stop talking, in a horrid impression of a stern teacher disappointed with her students. Instead, she looked more like a neurotic, probably constipated spinster on the edge of a breakdown. Lady, I don't know if your man abandoned you and nobody likes you (who could stand such a bitter, butthurt face), but don't treat visitors as invaders. The artists represented in this gallery would turn in their graves if they knew who hosted their art (or replicas, if we're being honest). I know that we were no thieves and we are always co-operative and respectful people. A simple "we are closed" would suffice and we would exit the gallery immediately. Instead, we were victims of the rage of a worker with repressed issues, or an inflated ego, just because she dressed elegantly and works...
Read moreI am not usually someone to leave negative reviews, but our experience was just so outrageous that I had to this time. Avoid this place at all costs. If you want the short of it- there’s another much bigger and MUCH nicer Mucha exhibition nearby (called “Mucha!”) where the staff is extremely nice and the experience is fantastic (same price too!), so skip this and go to the other one 100%. Now for the details- I’m a huge fan of Mucha and Dali, so I was excited to see this place while strolling around Prague. My husband and I ended up having an AWFUL experience with the woman who works in the gift shop and seems to run the place. She was insanely aggressive with us, completely unprovoked. We were looking through some small posters (which she had arranged in an insanely disorganized fashion) and choosing several to purchase. Apparently we were bothering her but not keeping them perfectly organized while STILL LOOKING. My husband then (very gently and respectfully) picked up a book laying among all the others for sale to look at it because it looked like something he may buy. At this time, the woman stormed over in a huff, ripped it from his hands, slammed it down and super aggressively scolded him saying “I WILL OPEN IT IF YOU WANT TO LOOK”. She then kept sighing and treating us like we were children misbehaving and bothering her or something. I confronted her about it, to which she said (VERY aggressively) “it’s NOT FOR SALE!!”. We then asked how we could possibly know that, considering there was NO SIGN anywhere to tell us that was the case. She had no answer to that and continued behaving like a total crazy person. It was an awful experience. Apparently she frequently treats both customers and staff this way from what we have gathered. Just look at the other negative reviews- they’re all about her and how she ruined everyone’s experience. It’s not worth it to have some stuck up bish ruin your...
Read more1 star goes to the exhibition which was good and had a very nice layout.
Now onto the problem, the blonde woman at the gift shop desk - reception, who on my girlfriend and i's first visit to the gallery (19/09/23) at 19:20 pm greeted us with a fit and shock that we were there after it being closed? Also as we entered some people were leaving so there was clearly signs of life, she then had a fit at us about turning the lights on when there was no clear sign stating that it closes when the hostess thinks it's adequate closing time, oh actually there's a sign saying the last visit is 15 minutes before closing time.
Now 2 days later we visited again, paid and when this woman saw us again, she refused to speak until of course she had to say that she had a chat with her boss and what we did the other day was bery illegal and that she should have called the police, she also stated that we were very lucky she didn't(thank you for your mercy).
She then of course continued by having a literal hysterical fit at us between Czech and English, and commanding us (in her words) by saying "just go", not a very good example of customer service let alone in a supposedly high intellectual place such as a dali exhibition, I also told her that she shouldn't work in this place if she is hysterical.
I would recommend to management to help this woman because she clearly has some issues dealing with people also anger issues as can be seen by other reviews stating her as the problem, maybe therapy? I don't know but I do know that she has a fragile ego and that she can't deal with basic human interaction, it's actually quite disrespectful to be talked to like that after paying to be there and very offensive to have someone who works there break out on you for a simple mistake.
Overall it was a good exhibition with terrible management, I definitely wouldn't visit again as I wouldn't like to see...
