Our experience from the get go was abysmal, we arrived in Prague to 29 degree heat which was lovely until the hotel expected us to walk for half a mile with our cases across cobbles to check in. ||||After a phone call with their reception team and some stern words they agreed to send someone over to the property to allow for us to leave our case in the room.||||We then had to walk to reception to check in and provide our passports, upon which we were asked to pay €150 “damage deposit” - never in my life of traveling and staying in “5 star” establishments have I ever been asked to provide a damage deposit.||||We then had to walk back to the actual property which is a far cry from the 5 star it is advertised as. ||||The entrance to the building is through a busy packed restaurant, there are god knows how many stairs to climb to actually get into the place, we lucky were located on the first floor.||||The room itself is dated and tired , the photos on line have clearly had a good “glow up”.||||The views of the square promised on the ad we actually a side street and a building in close proximity.||||There was no robe and slippers as advertised, the fridge was not working and our water was left lying on top of the tv unit. ||||The key we had to the cupboard where the towels and toilet rolls (which you have to get for yourself as there is no housekeeping) did not work. ||||To sum our experience up - we would not recommend staying here - this is our second time in Prague and on our first visit we stayed at The President which really is the 5 stars that it is advertised as, we should have in hindsight just rebooked with them.||||||The 10 minute walk from there to the square was most definitely worth it for the accommodation we had while staying there.||||Here we might be right on the square but the accommodation is far from...
Read moreStaying here puts you right in the middle of Old Town Square — truly the heart of Prague. There’s plenty of activity outside, but the rooms are surprisingly quiet. With the balcony doors open you can hear some of the crowd, but once closed, the noise is barely noticeable.||We booked the Executive Suite, which was very spacious. The balcony is a great size and unique — it’s the only one on the block, so it stands out.||Check-in takes place two short blocks away, but the staff escorts you to the residence and carries your bags, which makes things seamless. The suites are located above a restaurant, but we never experienced any noise from it. Guests also have access to common areas including a washroom, kitchen, and an excellent D’Lor coffee maker (one of the best coffees I’ve had in a hotel).||Access is simple but old-fashioned: you’ll be given manual keys for the street gate (only needed between midnight and 8 AM), the restaurant gate that leads to the suites (always locked), and your room.||A couple of small downsides: I emailed the staff with a question before arrival and didn’t receive a reply, though they did send clear check-in instructions and were very friendly in person. Also, the shower/tub tends to collect some water on the backsplash — not a major issue, but noticeable.||Overall, the location is unbeatable, the suite is large and comfortable, and the staff is very helpful. A fantastic base for exploring...
Read moreArrived on Thursday night to swealtering heat & my wife was told we had to walk around half a mile with our heavy suitcase to collect the keys to our apartment! |NOT A GOOD START! ||Having gone to the sister Emblem hotel to collect our keys we where then told we had to pay a €150 damage deposit 😂||Have stayed in many “5 star” hotels & have never heard of this before?! ||Anyway, we did that and then carted the case back to our apartment. The accommodation is situated on top of a packed busy restaurant that you need to walk through to enter the building. There are no lifts just stairs! ||The building is very run down & tired. It may have been a 5 star ⭐️ hotel in the 70s but now it’s no higher than a mid 3 star ⭐️ very poor offering for what you are paying! ||The room again was average. Wi-Fi was non existent. Fridge didn’t work. Carpets were stained. Walls all cracked. We had a square box beside our bed for Air Conditioning 😂😂 again not what you expect in a 5 star ⭐️ place!!!! ||We contemplated moving hotels but after what we spent we just bit the bullet & stayed here. Thankfully we check out soon!!! ||This is definitely the worst “5 star” accommodation we’ve ever stayed!||On a more positive note, the location is second to none. Right on the square. You won’t get a better location but that’s the only good thing we can take from our stay here!||Would not recommend to anyone who thinks they are getting 5 star ⭐️...
