If you’re craving a seriously satisfying Korean-style corndog in Prague, BASAK HOTDOG on Národní is a must-visit. Although it’s technically a fast-food counter, the quality feels anything but rushed: the batter is crisp, the fillings stay piping hot, and each bite has that addictive sweet-savory balance Korean street food is famous for. Portions are generous enough to stand in for a full meal, and with plenty of topping combinations—including vegetarian cheese-only options—you can mix and match to keep things interesting.
Service is lightning-quick and genuinely friendly, which keeps the line moving even at busy times. Prices are wallet-friendly, too, so sampling a couple of different corndogs won’t break the bank. The only limitation is space: the interior seats about half a dozen people at most, so consider grabbing your order to go. (On a clear day, the street-level view of Národní from the front window is a nice bonus while you wait.)
Bottom line: excellent corndogs, fair prices, and warm service make BASAK HOTDOG well worth a detour—and after one visit, you’ll probably find yourself planning...
Read moreThe corndogs were absolutely delicious — crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked, and super satisfying! However, there was a bit of a mix-up with my drink order. I initially asked for a drink, but it wasn’t added. When I ordered again, I ended up paying more because I wasn’t heard clearly a second time, and they accidentally made tteokbokki instead. I had to clarify once more that I just wanted a drink. Eventually, the price difference was refunded and I did get my drink. I work in customer service too, so I completely understand that mistakes can happen and things can get hectic. While the mix-up was a little frustrating, I appreciate the effort to make it right in the end. Looking forward to...
Read moreIt was my first time visiting and the food was good with reasonable prices. But a weird interaction happened between me and the woman at the cashier: the worker started asking me where I was from, which is a harmless question, but when I said that I'm from Italy, she insisted asking me "originally where are you REALLY from?" as if she didn't believe me. I don't think I have to explain why that's hurtful to hear as a Black Italian. Her intentions may have been good, but I left feeling very uncomfortable and quite angry. I recommend this place for the food, but perhaps the workers should be more careful of what they say as this can stir...
