Winstub le Platz — Restaurant in Strasbourg

We visited this restaurant hoping to enjoy some drinks and desserts. Upon arrival, we were welcomed and asked to wait for 30 minutes to get a table, which we patiently did. However, once seated, a person—likely the manager—approached us and rudely insisted that we order food, stating that dessert alone did not qualify.

We were shocked by this unprofessional behavior. If their policy requires customers to order a full meal, it should have been communicated upfront, either during the wait or via signage. Instead, we felt unwelcome and pressured to leave.

It's a shame that such poor service overshadowed what could have been a pleasant visit. We won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone expecting basic courtesy or...

Amazing view! Very welcoming at first. Nothing exceptional about the Flamenkush.

Too bad that you will get rudely kicked out (in front of the whole restaurant) with the managers approval .... if you stay more than an hour and a half (not two hours as the manager defended this rude kick out) to finish your wine (that i didn't finish) and enjoy the view.

I would have left my table if they asked me kindly to leave because of another reservation... but that didn't happen... kicked out rudely was the best they can do.

Recommended for that extra view and the rude kick out you came all to strasbourg for.

FUYEZ ! ! Service catastrophique et pourtant nous avons été servi par le patron.

Le patron pense certainement que son établissement est un restaurant gastronomique, mais je vous assure qu’il ne vaut pas plus qu’une friterie chinoise que l’on peut trouver près de la gare.

Les clients sont infantilisé dès l'entrée dans cet endroit . Nous avons pu entendre le patron demander à deux personnes de retirer leurs casquettes, comme si retirer la casquette allait faire de son établissement un restaurant gastronomique, quand ces personnes ce sont étonné de cela car d’autres clients portaient des chapeaux, LE PATRON a clairement dit qu’un des clients avait un cancer. C’était surréaliste aucun respect de la vie personnelle des clients. Des notre arrivé il manquait beaucoup de choses sur la carte nous avons dû choisir par dépit, sans parler que les plats après une bonne heure sont arrivés tiède sans pain . Sincèrement dépenser votre argent ailleurs Strasbourg a beaucoup mieux à vous offrir. Je pense que cet établissement ne mérite pas le détour.

RUN AWAY!! Catastrophic service and yet we were served by the boss.

The boss certainly thinks that his establishment is a gourmet restaurant, but I assure you that it is not worth more than a Chinese chip shop that can be found near the train station.

Customers are infantilized from the moment they enter this place. We could hear the boss ask two people to remove their caps, as if removing their caps would make his establishment a gourmet restaurant, when these people were surprised by this because other customers were wearing hats, THE BOSS clearly said that one of the customers had cancer. It was surreal, no respect for the personal life of customers. As soon as we arrived, a lot of things were missing from the menu, we had to choose out of spite, not to mention that the dishes arrived lukewarm after a good hour without bread. Honestly, spend your money elsewhere, Strasbourg has much better to offer you. I think this establishment is not...
