For pity's sake ; Avoid this place! Worst service I've ever witnessed in a restaurant, unfriendly even. The waiter didn't bring us the right drinks, tried to make us pay for it anyway and could not have the decency to give us our change back when we paid by cash (his attitude was so cold we wouldn't argue for the 1,10 euro he owed us and we just left). In the end, we left hungry and disappointed, since he never offered us to order food. We went for some traditional "currywurst" instead at Curry 61 which I strongly recommend.
Update* We never had our money back. The waiter kept the change and said "So it's ok like that" by assuming we would leave him TIP. His cold attitude left us feeling unwelcomed. Also, he never offered any kind of snacks whatsoever (snacks were available, as written in the comment bellow). Even if my girlfriend asked for a menu, he never told us the kitchen wasn't open and never told us snacks were available. Although the service of that one waiter was mediocre, I have to admit the terrasse looked nice and the music played was good. To finish, I would not recommend this place.
Note to the manager, you should have a serious talk with your waiters. I looked up the other reviews too, and there seems to be a lot of reviews like mine (this is no...
Read moreAfter reading positive reviews about this place we walked in today (Sunday 30th of June) before we were due to catch our flight home after being at Euro game. No one was behind the bar when it opened at 12.30. After waiting 5 minutes, I went to the bathroom while my girlfriend waited. A waiter then approached me and I asked if we could have some lunch. The waiter was incredibly rude, saying no food was available but said we should have a drink. I explained that we wanted lunch as we were catching a flight and couldn’t just have drinks. He became aggressive and said I couldn’t use the toilet and now needed to pay him €1. When I tried to leave he block me and my girlfriend and became aggressive. I told him I would pay but as a tourist I had to cash and would need to pay by card. He started shouting and being aggressive because he said I should have cash to pay him. When finally realising I would have to pay by card, he shouted profanities and told us to leave. Right up the road at the Hofbrau house, the staff were lovely and welcoming. It was the worst experience I had in Berlin. It’s the Euros and loads of tourists are here, there was no sign to say I couldn’t use the bathroom and was just there to have lunch… absolutely shocking service...
Read moreRude. The staffs forced us to pay after 5 minutes when we got our beers. I felt so much uncomfortable in that situation.
Even though it was 1 hour before the close, but I cannot understand why only our table should pay right now. (cuz other tables did not, they properly paid before leaving.)
Also, the staff told us that we cannot choose diverse size; we only were able to order 0.5L due to the last order time. And I remember the attitude of the staff, listening not carefully our voice.
Hey, but I saw you bringing few other beers to other customers. Why did you tell us like that? Cuz we don’t speak fluent german?
Or Maybe was is a kind of racism? Even my friend didn‘t get appropriate exchange. We actually wanted to have one more beer and complain the situation but we didn’t since it was little bit scared like making a conflict. Could u understand at the moment how the mood was?
I know sometimes speaking and introducing in other language is not easy, but you guys should not neglect or just stare at foreigners like weird strangers.
If the boss is looking at this review, plz look back your staff’s...
