I advise people to avoid this place if you’re planning to visit with a children’s pram or a wheelchair. We had great difficulty entering at around 18:00 on a Saturday evening. Firstly there is no ramp access open, even though we made a reservation with a pram. We were greeted by the front of house with the comment, ‘you’re crazy coming here with that, although the front door is not wide enough for the smallest of prams. After he reluctantly moved some things to the side for us, we were also made to feel quite guilty for the trouble we caused. We stayed for around 2 hours, the food was very nice. When we wanted to leave it was obviously a little busier. And we had great difficulty exiting the restaurant, as the staff that had experienced our problem on arriving had now put more tables in the way in the bar area. Making it almost impossible to leave, eventually we made people aware ourselves, with little help of the rude and passive staff that we would like to get through. Something I would not like to experience again and would like to make other people think before visiting. I don’t like to write negative reviews unless I think they are 100% deserved. The comment from the front of house as we arrived, left a very sour feeling and ruined...
Read moreA BIT DISAPPOINTED We came with big stomachs and big hearts to try this restaurant that looked good from far away. We were met with big pizzas and pastas. though the pizza tasted like it had no soul. As if the stretched out pizza also stretched out the flavouring making it lose its taste. I ordered the pizza but after I tasted that of friends on the table, I quickly changed mine to pasta carbonara with prawns as an extra. Boy was I disappointed again with that, too oily, sauce was too strong, I didn't finish it, I gave it to a friend who had a bigger stomach that ended up not finishing that too and his pizza. To then top it all up, we were charged for tap water. not sure if this is the norm in Berlin, which we don't think so as we've eaten in other well decorated and prestige establishments and we weren't surprised with that bill. So, its a no from us. the little things. Ohh! I also just realised, I was over charged as well, which is another blow. My receipt was for a certain amount, but then the card machine receipt was actually an increase by a few extra euros and I didn't offer to pay any tips, so that was a little sneaky and disappointing thing to do guys, really bad, very...
Read moreI would never give a review, especially a bad one for a resteraunt I did not even get to eat in, but this is important. Last Sunday at 20:00, myself and my friend decided to go somewhere to eat. My friend had eaten and ordered from L'Osteria at Alex before so she recommended the resteraunt. We were waiting for a table and a waiter came and asked us if we have a reservation to which we said no. He stated that the inside had no space and that he wouldn't serve outside at the Pavilion because it was too cold and going inside and outside would make all the staff sick. It was 22 degrees on a summer evening but if the staff feel too cold to serve the large terrace then what of it. It was the fact that the waiter was very rude, was snappy when I pointed out that there was already a couple being seated at the pavilion and there was plenty of free tables, and made zero alternative options, to why I am writing this review. He did not suggest to come back in an hour or so, especially since the resteraunt was open for another 3 hours. He simply shooed us away, which is a shame because it smelled nice from the door and my friend had enjoyed L'Osteria before this experience. Won't...
