Poukei — Restaurant in Bloomington

This place is awful and I’ve been to many Poke restaurants, including in Hawaii. I ordered the poke bowl with two proteins (spicy salmon and regular salmon) with rice as the base. The salmon was overly fishy, which is not good and indicates it is spoiled and not safe to eat. I wanted spring mix, but all they had was iceberg lettuce, which I’ve never seen before. They were very greedy with the vegetables, only allowing you to get 4 and considering ginger one of the vegetables. I chose cucumber, avocado (.50 extra), edamame, and red onion. I received a paltry amount of all of those items, 6 edamame beans, a few tiny pieces of onion, 4 halves of a cucumber, and the tiniest amount of avocado (maybe 15 grams). Every place I’ve been to allows you to pack the bowl. This is the first time I have ever seen restricted mix-in vegetables. This place is a disgrace and they need to learn from other Poke places. If i'm going to pay nearly $18 for a decent sized bowl, I would like to be able to sit down and eat comfortably without having to worry about anything being in my food. If there is going to be a no return and no refund policy then I would hope to see my food being made properly without having to almost choke on it. The employees at this place were genuinely concerning. Very terrible attitude, and when we told them that we found plastic/fish scales in the food, they basically said that it wasn't their problem and it was "normal"...? We had to go up their twice because it happened AGAIN and eventually asked for it to be remade. If i'm going to have to pay $18 and deal with terrible customer service and attitudes then i'm hoping that the fish scales would at least give me super powers and possibly not give me the feeling of choking on a...

I was hesitant about trying this place because of the reviews but I decided to do it anyway. They were right about the service; not the best and I asked her what something was and she didn’t even know and had to ask her coworker.

Looks like I got a fresh batch of fish so that was good. I got the spicy salmon with as many “free” add ons. I like that you can really customize what you want. Rice was cooked well But it’s not a place to ask questions, as each time I did it was so hard to hear her (music was too loud plus she wasn’t speaking clear) I would say it’s a good portion for the price of $12. I would come back. Just ask to try the fish you want first to make sure it’s fresh.

Also she doesn’t even try to make it look pretty so it’s not as picture worthy. Which is a bummer because the colors...
