Hubby and I love supporting local, so when we found a local coffee shop while visiting Gettysburg we were exited to visit. Immediately, we were greeted with indifference from the guy at the front. Shaking it off, we ordered a bagel sandwich to share and 2 coffee drinks. The drinks came out in a reasonable amount of time and were tasty. We took some time to enjoy the ambiance and decor around the shop. 10 minutes went by. Then 20. At the 30 minute mark, I went to ask if our sandwich was complete. They asked our name (we were one of only 3 couples in there at this time) and said it would be right out. Another 5 minutes and we got our sandwich. The bagel was not toasted and no tomato, as advertised. Hubby wanted to send it back but I just wanted out of there since we had plans for the day. It was an ok sandwich for what it was. The kicker, while waiting 35+ minutes for our food, the staff was laughing, joking around and talking about how much time the food takes to come out and that maybe they should let people know. The other couple in the restaurant had waited over 40 minutes and received their food after us, after we told them we had to say something to staff about it not being ready. Had we known it would’ve been such a wait, we would’ve gone elsewhere. Or, perhaps if there was more care and consideration from staff during that time, it would’ve lessened the frustration. Also, the staff was eating and drinking while preparing others food and drinks and that doesn’t seem appropriate. Regardless, 2 stars due to decent coffee drinks, absurdly long wait time, staff rudeness/unprofessionalism and a wrong order...
Read morefirst visit to Gettysburg. Visiting from Miami,FL while spending a week in the area attending a conference. Up early and was looking for a smoothie. While most smoothie places open up at 10am, this shop opens at 6:30am and I was pleasantly delighted by the offerings at this quaint shop. Wide variety of coffees, teas, smoothie, pastries and a French toast with egg and sausage frittata. So many wonderful options to try. I selected the Blackbelt smoothie (which has a combination of spinach, banana and another fruit). I was adventurous and added lavender to my smoothie and requested an oat milk base. (Unfortunately they were out of whey protein). My partner selected an apple crumble and small Costa Rican coffee. The shop reminded him of coffee houses in Europe. The Ragged Edge Coffee house seems popular with locals. There is a second level upstairs with additional seating and a play area for toddlers . We had an opportunity to meet with one of the owners Mr. Phil was sitting at a table downstairs. He was very friendly and personable. We enjoyed our morning visit here and look forward to returning again before...

It's a little hard to spot and the sign is hidden by an overgrown tree, so you need to be looking for it. It's not fast food, but great food fast with bagels and sandwiches made to order. There is a small front porch seating area to watch the traffic while you enjoy your food or you can sit inside in the front living room of the old home which is filled with old world charm. There is a quiet charming space upstairs with sofa and chairs. Out the back door is a garden oasis where you can enjoy your food in the flower garden complete with a pergola, small birds and butterflies. After a while, you might forget your even in the city. Oh, and let's not forget about the food. All homemade and delicious. I had a simple whole wheat bagel with egg, ham, tomato and provolone. Simple, yet deliciously fresh. And the people were a delight. Greeting us with smiles and happy to help answer any questions.
