We stumbled upon this adorable little brunch spot while on vacation and were initially excited to try it out. The ambiance looked charming, and with the weather being beautiful, we decided we’d like to sit outside. When the owner greeted us and offered the choice of indoor or outdoor seating, we politely opted for outside, partly because there was a group of men inside who had already made us uncomfortable by inviting us to sit with them. (All 3 of us were underage girls…) To our surprise, the owner seemed put off by our choice, even though she had given us the option. She commented that there was an entire empty dining room inside and seemed to take offense at our preference. She led us outside and sat us at the sunniest table possible, even though every other guest was comfortably seated in the shade and there were several shaded tables open. When we explained that the group of men had been inappropriate, the owner brushed it off, saying they “had a drink too many” and laughed that they might come join us outside. That comment alone was enough to make us question her judgment and professionalism. We asked our server if we could move to one of the many shaded tables. She was incredibly kind and understanding, and though she mentioned the restaurant usually discourages moving once seated, she said she’d ask the owner for us. Moments later, the owner came storming out and, with clear attitude, told us that since we had asked to sit outside, she gave us the “sun we wanted” and that we were stuck there and couldn’t move. While the food was decent and the space itself had potential, the owner's dismissive and condescending attitude really soured our visit. For the prices on the menu, a basic level of hospitality and respect should be expected. Thankfully, our server was attentive, kind, and clearly doing her best under a difficult manager. Unfortunately, not even her great service could salvage the...

I hate to be a Karen in this review and I never make these, but I am very disappointed in this visit today at Lisa’s Cafe. We have been going here for months now. We are not from FL, so every time we go to FL we visit the Cafe. It has always been so great and the food is wonderful and the service good as well. However, today our visit was not so pleasant and nice. There were 4 of us and there was a wait which we were okay with. There was 2 tables out side that sat 2 people to each table, so we asked if we could just sit there and the owner Lisa said yes, but there is to be no moving once we sat down. I replied okay that’s fine, mind you I didn’t know there was going to be tiki torch smoke burning right by my face. So we sat down, and the other 2 people we were with got their mimosas and waters while we have still gotten nothing, not even a menu. It’s been about 10 minutes now. Me and my boyfriend could not stand the smoke blowing right in our face from the torches and we were also very thirsty because it is 85 degrees outside and we still haven’t gotten a drink. We asked if just us 2 could move to the bar inside away from the smoke and to get a drink and she told me “I told you already, no moving once you sat down.” She did not care about us not having drinks yet or the smoke hitting us. So end of story, we left after waiting 15 minutes and never got a drink. I have owned a restaurant before and this is not how I would have treated my guest if they were not comfortable with where they were at and they definitely would not be waiting 15 minutes for a water. I am very disappointed in the service today and the way she couldn’t let us sit at the bar due to the circumstances. I hate to say this, but I think we will be going to another brunch spot...

We stayed across the street so we were thrilled to be able to walk over for breakfast. This is the only time we've been here and definitely the last. Im not sure if they were having an off day or if yesterday's service and quality is normal. Long story short we were there an hour and left without eating. The woman in charge, who we later found out was the owner, was combative and harsh with guests. We waited 20 minutes for a table on the patio which is fine. Except while we and many other guest waited there were 2 empty tables the owner would not sit because our parties were too small. At one point the tables had been empty 30 minutes while almost 20 people waited in the parking lot to be seated. We watched several parties walk away due to the attitude. As we sat our server told us their food took a long time, I should have known there. As we waited 45 minutes for bacon and eggs I observed guests wait 15 minutes after being seated just to get water and menus. At one point I noticed every table there had absolutely no food. The servers continued apolozing and making excuses to guests over and over. When our food did come it was just my husband's. They said another server took my food, but that couldn't be true because no one had food. My husband's bacon was burnt and cold, the toast was cold, not toasted, the wrong bread and with a blob of ice cold butter on top. When my husband tried to talk to the server he passed the blame and walked away. When my food arrived we were very unhappy and spoke with the owner. She basically replied fine just pay for the drinks and walked away with our plates. She was defensive and didn't try to make it right. Too many other good choices around to be...

So we stopped by today, expecting great food and service, however were disappointed with the eggs benedict order. Let me explain. Our waiter mentioned the chef had been trained in Paris, all their specialties and also recommended the eggs benedict. However once served, the hollandaise sauce had no lemon taste, even though the waiter mentioned it was made in-house, and when we told the waiter about the lack of lemon, which is a part of any hollandaise sauce, she went back to the kitchen, taated it then returned stating she tasted a little lemon in it, couldn't say much in our defense, so never said we couldn't taste, but telling you now, there was none our taate buds could detect. Also we expected a thick slab of ham instead we commented between us it felt more like lunch meat slice of ham, not even 1/8 inch thick, so even though we're locals we'll pass on revisiting this hyped up Cafe, and also it was $18 each and not $12 each as one of the recent posts would have you believe, see my posted photos for current pricing. And lastly no price listed on a cup of their columbian cup of coffee which we were charged $4.50 each, maybe a capuccino peice but not for a regulae cup of joe, which is probably the reason ir's nowhere to found on their menu. Lastly even though it's 20 minutes from this place I highly recommend Torey's in Clearwater, which has eggs benedict for $13.50 eaxh and unlimited cups of coffee for $2.50

Irish eggs Benedict were perfection. The eggs over easy with cheese grits --delicious. And you cannot beat the service. We will be back!!!

Food good, but Service killed the experience. Won't remove an ingredient, even if you're allergic to it, won't reseat you even if you're burning in the sun and there's a table behind you in the shade. I mean, how hard is it to not add onions to an omelet? It might be your policy but flexibility is important in this business. We were literally baking in the sun for 30 minutes before we had to ask for a menu and were ignored. As a local, I hate to leave our local business a 3 star review. But we would never come back even though their food was good, so this rating is fair. For better experience, ask for a table in the shade right away, no umbrellas or cover for outdoor tables. Check the tab too as my coffee was more than on the menu. Beach prices, but we are used to those and happy to support local when Service is good. $64 for breakfast after 20% tip that they didn't deserve. Village Inn will have same food for less with great service, just drive across the bridge.
