Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by the receptionist. I liked the modern and classy feel of this restaurant. We got the Farro Risotto and the 16 oz Rib eye to share. When the food came out, they gave us each a plate of rib eye and we thought they had gotten the order wrong. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find that because the server knew we were sharing, he split the plate for us!
Now on to the food. I was disappointed by the rib eye... my boyfriend was lucky and got the good part of it, but my half was very tough and some parts I couldn't even chew on. I requested medium-rare, and I think it was slightly overcooked. I liked the argula salad and the asparagus that came with it though!
As for the Farro Risotto, it was HEAVENLY. It was definitely my favorite dish I've had this year. First of all, the bowl was hot when it was served. From my seat, I could see that the chefs heated up plates before serving the food to keep it warm. I was so impressed that the risotto was still hot after 15 minutes! The temperature of the food definitely made a difference, and it brought out the aroma as well. The risotto had various kinds of wild mushrooms in it, and I absolutely LOVED the strong truffle taste. Not only was the quality of it incredible, but I was also surprised by its generous portion. Everything about this dish was just perfect.
The service at this restaurant is alright. My server wasn't very attentive. I meant to talk to him about my dissatisfaction with the rib eye and wanted to switch for another piece, but I hadn't really seen him since he served the food. In the end, we waited for some time before we finally saw him and got the check.
Overall, I still had a great night there. I did not like the rib eye, but I would definitely recommend everyone to try their...
Read moreUsually I'll wait till the end of my stay to leave a review in order to avoid rating a hotel restaurant while fatigued and irritated from my travel. However 2 days in a row of bad food cannot be ignored. Day 1 was simple: Bread rolls, Crispy Fries, and chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream.
What could go wrong you ask??? The bread rolls were hard, almost like stale rolls. The crispy fries were hard, not crispy. Does crispy mean something else in Utah? The vanilla ice cream was ok. Just a tad bit firmer than soft serve. Very generous portion though. Cookies were very sweet. My sweet tooth couldn't handle it but I'm sure others would love it. I chucked it up to me being tired and not able to appreciate it even though I kinda knew it wasn't me.
Day 2 dinner: Artichoke dip for starters, wagyu smash burger for the main entree, and the same vanilla ice cream for dessert without the chocolate chip cookies.
Well, the ice cream was the same, and is almost completely soupy after an hour in my fridge. Let's leave that aside. The burger was huge but just ok. I say ok because it wasn't tasty and it became almost soggy half way. I didn't add any condiments. The burger came with the same horrendous fries, confirming that my observation from the prior night was 100% on point. The most disappointing was the artichoke dip. It wasn't a dip but a soup. Now if I wanted soup, I would have ordered a soup. I double checked the menu again and it said dip. I've attached a video of the "dip" so you see what I mean.
Nope, I won't be ordering dinner from here on my 3rd night. I'll pay less for better food with door dash or Uber eats. Very very...
Read moreI was so excited to try this place but it was very underwhelming. The service was lackluster to say the least. We ordered a cheeseboard and bread as appetizers and we had to ask to be given small plates. We had to ask for our waters to be refilled. When the dessert was brought out, I had to fish my fork out of my entree to eat the dessert because we didn't get any dessert forks.
In total we ordered the bread, cheese board, brut Rosé, rissoto, bolognese, and honey chocolate mouse. The only two things we thought were good were the bread and risotto. Everything else was meh. Most things looked good but didn't live up to their looks. The bolognese was too salty and lacked flavor (but the burrata it came garnished with helped). The cheeseboard came with two cheeses (waitress didn't mention what they were, one tasted good and the other wasn't to our liking), honey (which was great), fig spread, very underwhelming candied pecans, and strawberries (which were good). The chocolate honey mouse didn't really taste like chocolate or honey, but it looked nice. Overall, you can have a much better meal elsewhere for...
