The coffee here was okay. It was a nice setup and has a lot of potential. The food looked great, but most items were unavailable midmorning. The barista that took our order was extremely rude. I have no problem waiting, so this review isnt about that. It's more about the experience we received.
The barista who took order never acknowledged us while we waited at the counter. Never saying "I'll be right with you" and just seemed to ignore us while she chatted about whatever gossip was important to her coworker. It wasn't until after about three minutes when it was time to take our order. While taking our order, she continued to have a side conversation with her coworkers who was making drinks next to her. At one point, even bending down to talk to the drinking making barista below the counter midway through helping us. When we ordered, they appeared to be out of most food items around 9:30/10am. We ordered a ham and cheese croissant, which there was one of the display case.
There were a lot of people in the building, so after waiting about 10 minutes for our drip coffee and iced coffee, we received our drinks from the other barista. I had to ask where my food was, which the one making drinks handed me one of the three items we ordered. I then had to tell that what I ordered..They gave me the second item, but then told me they were out of the third. The one who took my order pointed to the receipt saying she never rang the item in. A third person, one I'm assuming is a manger, overheard and tried to offer me something else. I denied, because at this point I was frustrated by this...
Read moreThe first time I came here, my experience was fair. The second time I came here the pail skinned girl with blonde hair and septum piercing was at the barista station making drinks. She messed up a drink and didn’t offer to make it again. She said, “why don’t you try it before I make it again?” After specifically asking her to add light honey, she squeezed a copious amount of honey in the latte, thus making it inedible. I always tip no matter how unpleasant the service is because people in the service industry work hard for others. The third experience, we walked back in there and realized she was working. She clearly remembered us, and when we went to pick up our lattes, they were luke warm at best. To save ourselves grief, we tipped 15%, took the cold drinks and walked out. By the way, when a customer says thank you, learn how to acknowledge a kind gesture. Third time was not a charm. I personally will not be coming back nor recommending The Coffee Fox.
Also, while waiting, I witnessed other customers have poor experiences such as a young man asking for part of his order that was missing. He was met with attitude, blank face sarcasm, and the complete inability to show basic customer service. As someone in a leadership role in my career, we all have bad hires and poor employees. A small leak can sink a great ship. Hopeful that management will re-assess the talent...
Read moreWhenever I'm in Savannah with my sister, this place is always packed. It's right near all the shopping so you can't miss it. I wrote it down as a place to visit the next time we're in the city. This time around it was only a 5 minute walk from our hotel, so we decided to stop in for breakfast and coffee before a walking tour. We popped in around 8:30 am and there were only about two others inside. I recommend you stop by early if you want to avoid the crowds!
If you scan the QR code and complete the survey you can get 15% off of your order. The two baristas were very friendly and served us quickly. I got a cafe con leche and a butter croissant, my sister got a Mexican mocha and a ham and cheese croissant. The pastries and coffee were delicious! We were able to sit at the roomy bar and leisurely enjoy our breakfast on a chilly morning before starting the day. My only "complaint" is that they forgot to ask if we were dining in or not, so they wound up taking our pastries out of the bags and put them on plates instead. I was also surprised when the coffee was served in paper cups, but I'm not sure if that's just the way it's done here.
I'd definitely recommend The Coffee Fox to anyone looking for a good...
