We tried coming on a Friday night and the line was out the door. We would have waited, but we were on a time crunch. We left and came back on a Saturday for lunch, and we basically walked right up to the counter. The menu is easy to understand, and there’s so many options to choose from! It’s nice that they divide it up based on protein.
I got the combo with the brisket taco and the quesa birria taco, with elote and a drink ($14.50). My husband got the combo with the mexi-cali taco and the quesa birria taco, with queso and a drink ($14.50).
The quesa birria tacos were really good!!! Not the BIGGEST fan of the tortilla, but delicious nonetheless. The brisket taco had a lot of flavor and they really stuff it full! I guess I just don’t like brisket on a taco, so I probably won’t get it again. I’m excited to try the other options though. My husband also wasn’t a huge fan of the tortilla on the quesa birria, but still enjoyed it. He loved the mexi-cali. His personal opinion is that fried shrimp has more flavor, and would have preferred that over the blackened shrimp.
My husband loved the queso; it was too heavy on the cilantro for my personal liking. We both LOVED the elote. DELICIOUS! It’s a little spicy, so buyer beware if that’s not your thing.
We ended the visit with the velvet cake ($4). Not going to lie, quite a disappointment. It was drier than anticipated, but still tasted alright. Probably won’t be getting that again.
Lots of seating options, which is nice. The staff are incredibly attentive and extremely kind. I didn’t see a single person throw away their own trash; the staff will take great...
Read moreToday was opening day for this location so it was fairly busy. Even tho it was busy, staff was very friendly and incredibly helpful. They were all knowledgeable about the menu and allergy concerns and were happy to answer all questions and adjust our order as needed.
Food: tacos were decent, the shrimp was our favorite Elote dip was very good, but fairly sweet and heavy on the sauce Nachos were very good, brisket was delicious Margaritas are very sweet
Atmosphere: plenty of seating both indoors and out Upstairs is significantly quieter and less lively than downstairs
They use a microphone to call names when order is ready which is very nice- we didn’t have to crowd the counter waiting to pickup our order
Menu/allergies: They have gf and vegetarian labeled on their main menu. I was pretty disheartened to only see two gf taco options on the main menu, and no note of corn tortillas that we saw. However, we did ask the staff, and they have a full menu of gluten free options available (yay)
Overall lunch here was a good experience, and the late hours will make this a great late...
Read moreTacos are a fun experience with a twist on a “taco” definitely a must try. Having experience in BOH I would recommend Chicken: Spicy Tikka, Rotisserie Beef: Brisket, Pork: Quesa Birria Duo Others we tried Kobe smash burger Mexicali Shrimp I do not recommend the Kobe smash burger In my opinion it’s a waste of product to use Kobe for a smash burger because in the end it all tastes like a Big Mac no matter what cut of beef you use and the flavor is just not there. The Mexicali was good just the shrimp is masked behind all the toppings The Birria was pretty standard like any other, nothing different next time would pass on the negatives. Hot sauces I would pass on as well nothing great about those plus the tacos speak for themselves. In all I like the place definitely something different than all the 100’s of the same old taco joints. Fast and kind service so that’s a plus. Will be coming back for another...
