Well, this sucks. My fiance and I have driven by here off and on while passing through and finally decided to stop. Worst mistake of the night. Not too sure where to start, My fiance and I walked in hoping for a relatively decent meal / dining experience . . . The outside seemed alright minus the second hand cancer we're bound to contract from the thick cloud of smoke wafting lazily through air right at the front door, though their friendly drunk regulars seemed like fun, gregarious folk. We were sat right away, I'm not sure how my fiance's seat was but the duct tape on my bench and the "slight" tilt forward of the seat was a nice asthetic touch improved only by the leftover food still stuck on my "clean" fork and the obvious chips in my authentic Chinese cup of over steeped and bitter tea. I'm sure you can imagine the rest of the dinner went absolutely swell from there.
Two highlights as I do believe that credit is due for things done right: the BBQ pork was indeed good and the BBQ pork fried rice was good as well. The service was decently fast though definitely not very friendly, he was obviously in a hurry and had better things to do. The food was a good portion size though my fiance did ask for super spicy food and being the insanely big baby that I am .. was able to eat his food with no qualms whatsoever, except that it was all breading and no flavor. My almond chicken ( dear lord I'm really hoping it was chicken ) was alright, albeit soggy and only lukewarm. Long story short: honestly, some of the worst Chinese food I've had, ever. Waste of $40. If I could give negative stars I would. I'm writing this current review from my home bowl And pondering the notion that the Wendy's Sharing the same parking lot as this Chinese restaurant would have been a much better option .. I...
Read moreOn their takeout order system for soup of 3.50 it does state on the order that the soup was dine-in only which I assumed was a mistake because I’m picking up the order for takeout. I placed the order and they would not fulfill the order until they called me to clarify about the soup being consumed on-site even though the entire order was takeout. When I arrived soon after the call, the order had not started being cooked yet because they delayed the order because they again wanted clarification about the 3.50 cup of soup. Once I told them I wanted the cup of soup on the takeout order they told me I needed to pay an extra 5 dollars for the packaging of the soup. If I would have purchased a larger soup that cost 7.50 they would have a obliged to it on a takeout order. However by then I was so frustrated in my half hour lunch break that I decided to pay the additional for the Soup. While waiting I was told several times I need to sit on the bench where I was told to stand I’m a law Enforcement officer in uniform and told her I didn’t feel comfortable sitting down and told her so. She continued to demand I sit on the bench while waiting. The cashier then pointed to the tip line of my receipt and told me I NEEDED to add a tip for the order. When I placed the order online I had already added a tip. I was offended to be asked to tip additionally especially considering my order was late and I needed to wait for my order to be completed cooking. I have been going to this restaurant for 10 years and have spent hundred of dollars and have even recommended friends and family to go there because I believe in small business. For this to happen I...
Read moreThe bar is what seems to be keeping this place alive. Not surprising when the almond chicken comes with peanuts.
Rushed to order, couldn’t communicate well with the one ( and only ) host / waitress there. She came three times to see if we were ready within 5 minutes.
Looking for a quiet peaceful dinner with your family? Not here you’re not. The obnoxious music from the bar won’t allow that.
Sweet & Sour pork was heavy on the breading. 0/5 Mostly bread. Almond chicken was good but nothing spectacular. 3/5 Average. Egg flower soup was mid. Had tofu and was salty 1/5 BBQ pork was dry. 0/5 Spring roll was very oily, mushy and probably came from a box 0/5
When we wanted to wrap up. To bad we weren’t ordering because she was nowhere to be found. When she did come by she just walked by asking how everything was. Not to actually check on us. The place was dead. We were the only people in there other than those in the bar. Which had a bartender. I can’t recommend this place. It looks dated, bad service and food. I get a better experience at Panda Express in every aspect. Which is sad because I want small businesses to do well but this place doesn’t deserve that. I think the space could be...
