203 — Restaurant in Berlin

Pros: Beautiful view from the windows, rotating platform – a chance to see the whole city. Friendly staff. The fact that the orders were mixed up and they tried to bring me the wrong dish a couple of times didn’t bother me – for me, food and interior matter most in a restaurant. The design looks like it’s from 60 years ago but renovated. Dusty lamps.

About the food: I ordered à la carte (my husband had the schnitzel menu). He wasn’t impressed, but I’ll speak for myself. • Shrimp salad. Bitter aftertaste, ridiculously little sauce (maybe they ran out?), crunch of shell or some sand (as if the shrimp weren’t cleaned properly or the salad wasn’t washed well). Another unpleasant detail: the shrimp weren’t deveined (that thin dark line – it really should be removed!). • Pumpkin soup. Not bad, but I’ve had better (of course, that’s a matter of taste). For me it lacked some cream and maybe something else. Quite spicy. It came with a tasty crunchy roll. • Meatballs. Somehow not tasty. Either the meat had been frozen too long or defrosted more than once. Maybe they were just poorly cooked. Mashed potatoes with lumps, like from a cheap cafeteria. • Hot chocolate. Okay. Very sweet, tastes like cheap instant cocoa. But not terrible, drinkable.

In the end: I left hungry, but the views...

Food was delicious but service was slow and all over the place .The wine with the set 3 course meal was like vinegar ...We asked for a wine menu and were given one but no one came back to ask us which wine we wanted!!!So we went without !! Fabulous views and building but don't bother booking the online 3 course meal experience as you get little choice for £ 98 pounds each ( which included tower entry ) and the wine is just the worst we've ever had ..Great views though ! Staff didn't know about our deal and didn't know about it saying on the deal that we were to arrive 15 minutes early for a " welcome drink " ..they stopped us going in ...and were a bit rude when we wwre trying to explain we'd bought a special package for a lot of money online..the lady on restaurant reception with short blonde hair was rude ,dismissive and even said sarcastically " thanks for that" when I was explaining the deal we had purchased and was smirking ...not...

Overpriced, terrible service, average cocktails. Would not recommend at all. There are other places to get a nice view that don’t charge an arm and a leg to get up. On top of the charge to get up, our cocktails were 12.5 euros each and average at best. None of the staff in the entire establishment smiled, nor were helpful in any way. The bar staff were the worst, purposely ignoring customers. One of them couldn’t make cocktails which resulted in a slow, tedious experience. The only saving grace was that we booked the fast track tickets for an extra 5 euros which was WELL worth it! The queues were ridiculous. If we’d had to wait in them as well as paying as much as we did overall, it would’ve been a true nightmare!...
