I recently stopped by this store with my friend for some skin care products among other things. We took our time in the store, looking around and swatching stuff. While on the floor, staff was very nice and helpful. It wasn’t until we were about to pay for our products that my friend was detained by the cashier and the “store manager” (who never gave us her name) walked up to her and unjustly accused her of taking and/or misplacing a lipstick (a tester, not even new) and my friend of course did not take anything so she went ahead and told the staff that they could check her bags if they’d like (they did not). The “managers” behavior was incredibly disrespectful. She was publicly humiliating my friend who was so nervous/angry about the whole situation she didn’t even know what to say. This “manager” assured us they had her on camera and after repeatedly telling us to give the product back and us obviously not even knowing what product she was talking about. She threatens to call security to check our bags and we are more than willing to cooperate because we did not take anything. She never called security and then goes to tell us that she no longer wants us to come back and shop at that particular store. This person has the audacity to embarrass us infront of everyone by 1. falsely accusing us of stealing, 2. The way she was talking to us was extremely rude and unprofessional (someone professional would have dealt with the situation in a completely different way) , 3. telling us we can’t come back to shop at the store when she’s not even willing to check our bags so that she could see that we didn’t take anything. She had no actual proof yet treated us like she did. We were about to spend $100+ dollars at this store and she was accusing us of stealing a USED $20 lipstick? really? This was the most unpleasant experience me and my friend have had at an Ulta store. I hate to think she targeted us because of our color (both my friend and I are Latinas). I want to give her the benefit of the doubt but the way she treated us infront of all of the other customers and employees was not okay. We are frequent paying customers at this store but after this experience we will be taking our...
Read moreSuper disappointed with my "Signature Curl Cut" with Tawny. She didn't know that the Ouidad Treatment was included until I pointed it out. Then didn't even ask for pics or what I was looking for until I asked if she wanted to see pics. After showing pics, she didn't ask if I wanted any length off. She added more layers to the back that still don't excentuate my curls, styled it super stringy and nothing like how I showed her. Didn't give any advice on styling or recommendations for my hair type. Didn't address the sides of my hair until I was getting frustrated with how it looked limp and bulky. The face framing is choppy and not flattering. Definitely NOT a curl specialist. Literally cut a couple layers just about the same as my trip to a much cheaper salon. The appointment stated on the website that it would take an hour and half, which it took less than 45 minutes. For the price, I'd expect to have someone that actually knew the craft and cared what it looked like or that I even liked it, asked questions, or even tried to have a good understanding of what the goal was. Also, I asked specifically about the Denman brush and recommended products for my hair. She told me she would show me after the cut and style were done. At the end, I asked if this is really how she would style it and said yes. It looked terrible. Then I again about the brush, at this point said well your hair texture is not for that type of brush and never did show me any products she mentioned. Only named one brand shampoo and conditioner but not which one from the line. She also only mentioned the mousse she used by name while putting it in my hair, none of the other products. She was nice, but had a very dry personality. I do not recommend this stylist at all. Basic, very basic cut at best. I could have got the same for less than $20 elsewhere and honestly have gotten much better cuts with more personable stylists at those...
Read moreMon. Oct 1, 2024: I felt super disrespected in this store. I went in to look around for my concealer that I ran out of and to browse the store to relax after a rough day. But this experience was honestly so disrespectful. I went straight to the dior concealer area after asking where it was and decided to shade match myself. Since it’s almost fall I needed a light concealer, which is why I tried on a couple shades. After finding the shade I wanted, I picked it up and began to browse the store. Mind you the whole time I did the same worker came up to me MULTIPLE times for help after I said no everytime because I knew what I was doing (I’ve worked at Ulta before). Afterwards I browsed the store looking for other options. I always wanted to try Charlotte Tillbury so I decided to put away the concealer and try on some other shades. I put the concealer back in its ORIGINAL area. But as I was trying on some products in Charlotte section the SAME worker came up to me and asked why the concealer wasn’t in the spot. I knew she didn’t even look if I put it back and she definitely didn’t see what shade I picked up previously so I was confused. I’m sure she was watching me the entire time but I didn’t think of anything because since I use to work at ulta I knew how aware we had to be. I only carried my wallet, no purse no anything that would make me seem suspicious. She began to questions me when I told her that I put it back. So I showed her the exact place I put it, and she didn’t even bother to look, instead she just walked away with no apology. As an employee that prides on customer experience, if you have made a mistake the respectful thing to do is apologize. And as an Asian women in the store it made me think it was targeted towards me. Definitely disrespectful and hope this worker learns from...
