Host Gary & Anne are warm, welcoming and showered us with amazing hospitality. Flowers in the room, welcome drink, chocolates and even offers of a brolly to shelter from the rain even as we made our way to various dining outlets.||Could not ask for a room with a better location as most of the places we had reservations for were within 5 to 10 mins walk. A brilliant decision especially on a stormy winter's weekend.||Folks who loves to experience a heritage style apartment, complete with wooden floors and with modern day conveniences as advertised will enjoy their stay. With a wifi was 6.2 down and 0.7 up Mbps, checking of emails and streaming of low resolution media is generally ok - Do expect lag for anything more demanding. Thankfully, the flat screen TV did have USB ports enabling one to use personal streaming players.(Its not a smart TV).||The pressure of the shower was excellent with the hot and cold water feature working well. The his and her vanity sinks, well stocked with toiletries was also most appreciated. The occasional reverberations emanating from common piping together thin walls, which encourages gentel speech, serves as good reminder of this gracefully aging establishment.||The mattress was ok, a little on the firm side due to being well loved. Read more2 Jun 2023, Friday - Arrived in Perth. I booked family a boutique hotel called New York On King located in the central CBD of Perth. This lovely boutique has 3 suites! We took up the King Spa Suite and the Queen Suite with a patio. As it was converted into a modern contemporary art house design from an old warehouse, the building retains that old industrial magnetism with fusion of modern decor. The Suites are of a homely atmosphere and asthetically pleasing.
Walking thru the hallway is like walking into an art gallery with the owner's art collection. The neighbourhood is just as happening as it leads to many eateries and other restaurants and Hay St, William St, Murray St and Perth Station providing us with whatever we need to spice up our 5-night stay and act as a base to visit Mandurah, Fremantle, Rottnest and hop on the train on the Airport Central to Terminal 1. 👍🏻
We will have wonderful memories of our stay in Perth because of the hospitality of the city, it’s people, our accommodation and our hosts.
Thank you Gary and Anne!
Warm regards, SK, JL...
Read moreMy best friend was in the midst of a crisis and needed emergency accommodation, I wanted to take her somewhere nice that would even momentarily take her mind off all the negativity and stress that she was experiencing. So at $350 a night, on a Tuesday I expected a lot more than we received. The room was nice and from a distance seemed to tick all the boxes, however, the gowns and slippers provided were used and had an undesirable odour, much like the pillows which had a distinct smell. The heater was so loud it became more of a nuisance so we opted for feeling the cold as opposed to the headache and annoyance of the sound invasion coming from the aging heating system. The add on Agoda indicated that breakfast was included, not stipulating that all bran, a tub of yogurt and a box drink was what was on the menu. The entire experience was well below average for the cost. Oh and parking is a...
